I hate you, sleep well.
well i haven't installed the patch yet. got the beta first and now i need to get the full patch and reinstall the game but how this this road to jalalabad map? i've heard its alot like karkand is that right?
No problem matey...and theres also one other thing I remembered too. I am unable to download any demos from the 24/7 Dalian server. All other TV2 servers I can, but never the Dalian one - even literally right after a round. The other day, I ran over 2 guys on the ground with a chopper, wanted to check it out from their POV and couldntTor77 wrote:
Checked now. All admins are now to file a report when a server crashes. It has to include server name, map, number of players and time of crash.Snake wrote:
Tor77 - could you look into it. Same with all other TV2 servers, since they are all prone to crashing, but not to this extent. Dalian 24/7 is also pretty bad.
Hope we will be able to battle this now - thanks for your feedback!
It just says "Unable to find demo on server". I assume its a server side issue since all other TV2 servers I experience no problems with.
I would report this on your own forums, but its all in norwegian

That is a well-known problem. We have had same kind of problems with other members of the TV2 community; the map loads and as the game is about to start they get kicked for high ping.
They have all different solutions to the same problem:
1. Internet Provider. Some seem to get this problem when using a specific internet provider (norwegian Telenor).
2. However, the vast majority has solved this as a software/settings problem rather then your connection.
Here are some tips (you don't have to do all these at once of course, but you can test some of them):
- Free up system resources by closing anti virus, messenger services etc
- Increase your virtual memory: Start->(right click on My computer)->Properties->Performance->Advanced->Virtual memory (click "Change" here), and increase it to the max.
- Run a defrag of your disk: Start->All programs->Accessories->System tools->Disk defrag.
- Try http://www.ccleaner.com/ - it's free and efficient!
- Change the video display settings in BF2
After reading your message I did a little searching and one of our server guys posted this in the forum (as an answer to several complaints, JUST like yours):
Ping kick!
Most BF2 communities runs pingkick. The pingkick/server calculates each users ping by a formula I'm not quite sure of, but it is constantly calculating your ping and divides it by time to find your "average" ping. If this at some point reaches over 160 you are kicked. Remember that the TV2 servers has a high percentage of people outside of Norway playing. This is definately affecting the ping for other players and leads to decreased performance for some.
My best tip is to ONLY run BF2 and fex Team Speak, but kill all other apps. Also make sure no one else is using your line (duh) and don't download stuff (duh, again).
As a conclusion - kill all apps, clean the disk and don't use the line for anything else. Hope that helps! Let me know how it works out.
Cheers!
