I have wrote Programs as a job, and i tell you one thing the process:
Idea
Design
Testing
Release

In the Patch work side everything is tested, for the DEV team to poorly test the patch before release is unacceptable, picture this u buy an apple, 1/2 the apple is full of maggots, the rest fine. They test the good side and the bad side, looked at the bad side, package the apple and sell it.  You buy the apple and take a nice juicy bite out of the maggot infested side.

do you eat the rest of the apple?

This is the same as the patch there are good add-ins to the patch and bugs. The Dev team has done next to nothing to solve the bugs in 1.3 did you see a hot fix at all? no. You were forced to wait while you CTD and Got connection problems so much that  the Dev team looked like they don't even care. don't even care.

It is your right as a Customer to voice your opinion, but if you want to finish eating the apple go ahead.

Also do you see other company's buying the BF2 engine to use for other games?

I'm running it on a 6 year old rig.. 1 gig AMD with 500 megs of ram and have no issues at low res settings.
My only complaint it the time it takes to load but besides that I never seem to see the majority of bugs and issues other people see and I have a ton of fun playing this game.

If people don't like bugs they should switch to console systems

I really like BF2, but the recent patch's have done bad and have done good, the 1.4 patch, the new map is cool and everything, but the prone to crouch delay i personally thing is bullcrap and shouldn't be there in the first place. Sure EA has made mistakes in the game, there are glitchs, but thats only because people discovered them. A ton of cheap tactics (bunny hopping ect.) they are trying their best to fix, but with everything they fix something new pop's up because of the patch, people tend to complain, then it happens all over again. They fix it, you complain, they fix it, then you complain...

well, 1 day after patching I have noticed 2 bugs that still exist.. I know theres probably more...but these
are the 2 I have encountered..

1.  RED TAG bug.  I killed a friendly the first game in.  He had NO tag at all.. neither red or blue.

2. The server info still doesnt show up on the loading screen. It does show up once in the game, but
not before.

Also, I might add the server browser is still JUNK.  A single click on a server to refresh info locks up
for 10-15 secs.. Hardly up to par for a browser in a game in 2006. The whole browser should have been
redone long ago.

I do like the new map, though. Looked good.

All in all, I think its fair to say that DICE is really not capable of fixing problems in their games. I see so
many people saying 'Show me a game that doesnt have issues..' well, I can name several that have VERY
VERY few issues. As a matter of fact, Unreal Tournament 2004 was patched within 2 weeks of release back
in 04' and since then only very minor tweaks to game play (not bugs..) are released.. That is how it should
be done.  Not 6 months, 8 months, 15 months later.  And now they are putting all their efforts in exp. packs
and the 2142 release. But hey, call me a whiner, dont matter to me. All Im saying is I know quality when I
see it, and BF2 was not quality by any stretch of the imagination.

The $64,000 question that keeps popping up in my mind is this..

How can a patch be beta tested for so long, and still be released with a bug in it so obvious that its
impossible to not see ?  Im speaking of the server ip/info not showing up on the connecting screen
and in the game when 1.3 was released.  And now , even with 1.4 patch it STILL doesnt show up on
the connecting to screen..  It leads me to believe that DICE puts very very little effort into actually
correcting problems.

if you don't like the game stop playing and stop making posts about it most people just don't wanna hear about it and your post won't change their minds just leave so i can enjoy my game even more

I like BF2. I enjoy it. If I didn't like It I wouldn't play it or complain because its not worth my time.  Kinda like Day of Defeat, don't like it uninstalled and day over.

Dude, Try a Novalogic game! You think EA is not supporting BF2, Try JO! They even introduced a new map, for Nothing. You don't see that shit often. So look at what ya got, and consider if you really need to be cryin about it.  They are not making any money off the updates, yet they roll on out.

a new map for nothing ?? wow.. thats amazing...... Do you know how many other games have
maps for free ? All of them. Unreal Tournament has 50,000 maps.  And if it wasnt for EA's scam
called the 'Ranked Server' we would ALL be enjoying user made maps like that ONE you speak of.

Novalogic , Epic, DE , doesnt matter... EA is at the top of the list for bug reports and at the bottom
of the list for customer approval rating. That is FACT.

BF2 sadly is a beta test for EA.  New engine, new programming team, new everything.

If we were talking about all these 12 months ago, it would be differant, but this is 15 months after
release and the game is still riddled with bugs that they cant fix, and compatability issues that they
have no clue the cause of.

Whenever you see a patch release notes that say 'Another Attempt...' you know you got a problem.
