Yep. I went from 1Gb to 2Gb just yesterday and noticed a big difference in my loading times.

lately it seems that 1gb has become the new real standard minimum req.

did you get rid of the stutters. a friend got 2gb and said it reduced them greatly but they were still there randomly for him.

Hmm? stutters? don't really understand what you mean.  I did get a bunch of '"there is a problem with your conncetion" messages at first but they went away after awhile.

I think he means get gets a bit of lag still. I get this in big maps with lots of planes and stuff I have 1 gig of XMS Corsair and a Geforce 6800GT and still I get this lag on some maps its very weird and drives me nuts. I should not need to get 2Gig of Memory to play a game but oh well.

And yes I have tweaked this machine ever which way to try to improve performance and still have a few issues.

I have no tried new nvidia drivers in about a month so I might try that next.

I found there was a tremendous difference in the game's performance when I updated from 1GB to 2GB RAM.

It won't help in game lag if you have any but it will cut your load times drastically going from 512 to 1024. I went from 1024 to 2048 and am usually the first one in a game which is nice. Besides the load times a great benefit I noticed was when you start a map there is no more map load lag in the beginning and when you shut the game down the desktop is immediately active no waiting for the game to unload at all. With todays games I agree 1024 is the minimum and 2048 is optimal. Same goes with video 256mb cards are the minimum now I think with SLI and Crossfire being the future.

Memory note: if it helps I use Corsair XMS memory and would recommend it in a heartbeat.

ok thanks again:D Then i will start with the minimum:D.. because those things are pretty expensive.. if i want 2048 now it will cost me 200 euro's..
