we live in a throw it away, microwave world these days,, everyone wants everything RIGH NOW!! I could careless about you ( hombre ) .. I dont think EA had it in mind for people to have all the awards in 7 months either..
There's the real issue - and if anyone thinks the conduct is acceptable, they wouldn't need to start (or post in) a thread to justify the practice. It's like argueing that the use of an aimbot is OK because you can't / won't put in the game time to practice your aiming skills.RadeonII wrote:

If you want to "collect" stuff, try coins or stamps - but don't waste a valuable Team slot on a busy server just so you can pretend that you've actually "acheived" anything. There are other people wanting to play that are far more useful to the Team than you obviously are.
Don't kid yourself: Your stats in other categories can expose the padded stats for what they really represent. Padding is an exploit that interferes with team play and cheapens the game experience for the rest of us.
On a personal note, my BF2 "hobby" is taking screenshots of padders to forward to EA; and then killing the padders or reporting them to Admins. It's a shame there's no Badge or Ribbon for the task, but it's a satisfying feeling anyway - If that bothers you, then feel free to start a thread to whine about that . . .
just last night I`d see all our assets get blown up then repaired then blown up then repaired so I decided to go take a look at what was going on, lol It seems someone was going for their repair badge or something he would spawn as spec ops and blow up our assets then kill himself and re spawn as eng and fix it so I took a pic of him...
So, if nothing's worng with stat-padding, why does EA actually take action AGAINST stat-padders?CZE_M4CH0 wrote:

whoo ... hold the boat... some of the guys here got there mouse cord in a knot. Its not padding if you play just to get the medals.
Its padding if you use methods of getting those medals that isnt considered good game play, by someones else idea of good game play..
This guys posted that he was playing in good conduct not the revive/knive method.. and earned the repair badge. big deal if he went into the game with the intent of earning a badge. ive done that with the chute badge. yeah i flew a chopper up really high jumped, chuted in and then kicked some booty! so was it padding cuase it was premeditated;)
I know a bf2 player who thinks the game is based on getting medals and he reads on what he has to do to get the next one and then he goes and does it. EXP: the zip line award is like 6/8 ziplines in a game. so he goes in and zips 6/8 times in a game. that is playing the game to him. personally playing the game isnt about stats to me it just kicking your @$$...
Till the clans/EA start paying people to play BF2,, lying on your app/sig/stats isnt gunna land you anything... in the online pc gaming world. like EA is calling these stat padders (cuase there the best of the best) in to get there take on the game and what improvements they think the game needs, then EA gives them a check for a couple grand... and you got nothing for being honest..
you have honor! and thats how other gamers earn and give the respect to others that play hard.
Some may play for honor
So dont worry about stat padders or what constitutes a stat pad,, just give em a boot if there conduct in "your" server isnt in your guidlines!
Some may play for honor
Some may play for stats
Some play cuz they get a unimployment/wellfare check..... on a dell <----- lol
it not's weather you bring them an inch from there life, or a mile ---- killin is killin

I think the biggest problem about stat padding is that EA/Dice sooner or later has to find ways to prevent it and those are gonna hurt everyone who wants to play the game the right way.
I think it would be really easy to implement some kind of maximum revives to prevent the knife/revive game. Say someone dies 3 times in a row he can´t be revived a fourth time due to anti stat padding routines. On the one hand there are the stat padders who now have to spend more time on their way to the goal who don´t really care. But on the other hand there are the people who try to defend a flag getting hit the fourth time who then can´t be revived due to stat padders.
Every law that prevents people to live the way they want the easy way is due to people who misused the easy ways.

Thank you guys for your opinions, as I said, I did it only to get the repair stuff because it would take too long to do it the regular way, and I'm not a patient person (rest of the stuff I do the regular way because it's not so dumb to get)...and just to make happy the ones who see stat-padders; just switch and go get the easy kill!
So what if it take long time? As I said... It's EXPERT bagde so of course it take long time (like expert tank take 400 hrs in tank and there's no faster way to get it). But as long as you are staying outside of top 3 and so on, I really don't care but it's still lame.
Since nobody corrected the lack of comprehension displayed in your original post, its not the expert bagde hes talking about ... its the Meritorious Service Medal which requires a ridiculous 1000 repair points among other more reasonable things.BlueScreen wrote:

@ tard: It also requires 250 hours of play time. Which means you have to get *one* repair point every fifteen minutes.
Which is about how long a round tends to last for me. Surely getting one repair point every round isn't as hard as you make it sound.

on a side note, even if everyone was honest, the stats page of any particular player would be a load of crap anyway, because the game was not designed to take into account the way that overlapping parameters work - if you see a guy that has uber sniper k/d, with a billion hours etc etc you still couldn't say he was 'a great sniper' because most of the time he probably sat in tank, flew a plane or a chopper etc, and racked up the kills. They should have made it so that once you are in a chopper, say, the kills you get count towards the 'helicopter' stat, and not whatever kit you were wearing at the time...xanthpi wrote:
If everyone was honest then you could look at the badge collection of a particular player and get some indication of their skill level. But everyone is not honest, so now when you notice that someone has their expert knife badge, instead of thinking "oooooh they must be 1337", you have to think "hmmmmm, probably just another cheat, I see".
like, I said, a bit off topic, but just thought I'd throw that in.
Not really. It's possible to have an idea of a person's infantry skill levels. Rather than looking to his class kit k/d ratio, #kills&deaths, that like you say, is affected if someone uses vehicles, planes or helis; regard a person's weapon #kills, k/d ratio and accuracy with a certain weapon.
Then again, it's possible to find people cheating those weapon stats. I.E. gather 3 stad padder friends that would join a server to raise their weapon stats, raising #kills, accuracy, etc... etc...

I'm not even going to grace this filth with a reply short of a disgusted shake of my headI mean if you've spent $50 or $80 (if u have SF) it's up to you how you play the game, isn't it?
