Maybe in our account we could be able to modify out own character appearence?  Like, one per army, based on physical traits, and a few uniform tweaks (uniform mods, like patches on your btu you can design or something)

A friend of mine ventured this and I thouht it was pretty cool

I'd love to be able to choose my skin in BF2.
But it will be a mess to recognise the class of the other players.

Not only the class, but the team as well. Already with the SF maps, many players are finding problems differentiating between the teams. Wouldn't this variation increase that difficulty? Just something to think about.

as long as we have the color coded system, we can tell friend from foe. having slightly varying gear, like patches, wouldn't make it harder to recognise people at all.

alternatively, it doesn't have to be global. let's say you can modify the way your avatar looks a great deal, but you're the only one who can see it. problem solved.

Skins are fine now.

Custom skins only lead to exploits.

I want to look just like the rest of my team. Black white green or otherwise is fine with me.
