It's your PC.. not EA/Dice. I had just as many CTD/Connection Problems as the next person with 1.3. I loaded the full ver. 1.4 and have play ever since without one problem. So therefor it must be you...
my PC crashed 6 times in less than 20 min once i tried playing BF2 for awhile... and it wasn't CTD, i had to reboot my PC everytime ... but i can't blame EA/Dice for that, it happend b/c my PC sucks...
I got the full and still had problems. And no my PC doesn't suck.
