They got a parachute kill, and the symbol is like a badge to show off their coolness.

You get the parachute icon when you kill an Airborne Ranger in that round.
I hear you get the parachute icon above your head when you don't punish for a TK. Hence, why you see so few. It's like a buff, you can just jump off of anything and float.. try it!

Once u get the parachute medal above ur head u get unlimited parachute ammo
It means the commander succesfully dropped a supply crate on you.

No not just commander. I've seen teammates with the icon above them though usually without the vehicle they requested

if the jump in the air and type alt+f4, they can fly. basically they are using fly-h4x.

The screenshot...... i wasn't commander, i was a squad leader but the player was not in my squad, we had the sever set to infantry only ,so vehicle drops cant be done
