Of course it's a personal opinion, but I prefer reload to be that button next to the lights on the n52.

I use a logitech MX518 and lay the mouse out as follows:

LM = fire
RM = jump
scroll = weapon select, click it for alt fire

On the two thumb buttons, I have one set to sprint and one set to main radio, although that latter key I'm not sure I'm completely happy with.

I tried it that way first, but found that just mapping a key made it a smoother process for me.  When double tapping, I would not get it sometimes.  Don't know if I was doing it too fast or what, but it bugged me.
