I searched *yay* and came up with nothing.

I'm using a MX 600 Cordless Mouse. It's a really nice mouse imo and I love the buttons on there. I have been using setpoint to designate those buttons to things like pistol, grenade, etc.

What I'm looking for is to set two of the buttons (+ and - zoom buttons) to change the sensitivity on my mouse. It's a real pain in the butt to snipe with full sensitivity. My hand isn't uber steady, and sometimes I even use WASD to change my crosshair.

Looking through setpoint, I cannot find a way to map those buttons to the mouse's sensitivity. Does anybody know of a program that will allow me to do this, or a way to do it through setpoint?

Any help is appreciated.

Use a razor mouse.. it supports dynamic DPI change... I'm not sure that IS a program that will allow you to change the SPI on the go of off-the-rack mice.... I'm actually pretty sure the mouse has to support this feature.

Well I'm not exactly willing to spend a good chunk of cash on an expensive gaming mouse. I don't see why it wouldnt be possible- the program would just have the use the slider on the control panel/mouse settings or the setpoint slider.

Ok... But as long as that slider is in BF2, not in windows, I dont see how you can make it a macro.... While it IS possible to change stuff in BF, even on the fly. Any program that tries to "alter" or impact the BF2 program is considered a "hack", even if it only is to allow you to set the DPI.
If you could do it with a console command in Windows, you could potentially just macro it.... But again.. In order to do that I'm pretty sure that the mouse needs to support alternate DPI settings.... If you can't afford a Razor, I'm sure there are other decent mice out there, even cheap ones that have the same tech.

Well what I'm thinking of wouldn't alter bf2 at all, it would just change the sensitivity of my mouse via windows. Like... I up the sensititivity with my mouse button and it would work when out of game, too. I pretty much want something like Setpoint- which allows me to change my buttons to keystrokes, like "2" for pistol. Except, there is no option for sensitivity adjustment.

I guess what I'm looking for is a "macro" then. I just wouldn't know how to program it....

Okay, I don't know how SetPoint works with the MX600 compared to the G5 (which has + and - buttons on the top) but one thing I could suggest is maybe changing the resolution to 400-500, the in-game sensitivity to 1 and try that. I've stopped using any different resolutions now that I've adapted to the G5 and do everything just at the lowest setting, with vehicle sensitivities turned up just as when I was using an optical mouse.

Well I'm not a sniper by nature, if you look at my stats, it's not nearly my most played kit. It took me at least a few weeks to adjust to a new mouse (old one died)... and I don't think I'm willing to change it again.

The MX600 has + and - buttons on top as well. But they are labeled zoom, I'm guessing this is a photographer's mouse, someone who uses photoshop, etc.

Sorry I wasn't suggesting you change the mouse, just change the res to something around 400/500, make the in-game setting 1, and try it out. See if you can fight with it set that way; works for me

Well, I have a similar mouse (Logitech MX518) and the + and - buttons allow me to adjust the DPI sensitivity on the fly... just have to have the correct drivers for it.  Best place to look for it would be Logitech's website, other than that, I don't know.  Just be sure and look for the drivers for your mouse, they'll have the utility for setting the DPI settings for the + and - buttons.

Woops, I worded that poorly. I meant I had to change to a new mouse... and was never able to get it back to the same sensitivity. That's just murder for infantry to change it again. I can finally have the practice and skill to headshot with an AK on the fly...
