Ipod may not be the best, but it works for me. I had a MPIO for 2 years (Loved that thing), but the company went out of buisness, and i had a 2 year warranty on it from Best Buy, so the only thing the store sells now is Ipods and a few expensive Creatives. So i got the 2GB Nano, working great for about a year now. Battery doesnt seem to be any less effective than it was before, and I think its a decent product for all of you who look down on Ipods.

I cant believe people are buying ipods that use the internet with any degree of regularity. Ipods are for folks that dont know any better when it comes to portable device music/movie/pics. Sony ?? are you kidding me would not touch them with a ten foot pole of ipods.
The two best are the Creative ZEN and iRiver. The Zen will just edge it for me after seeing there new Widescreen 60gig player coming some time to a store near you.
I have noticed that people with iPods spend a lot of time on mySpace or Bebo, so before we run the iPod users out of the village we should just forgive them as they dont know any better. But the person that buys a second one,,heat up the tar get the feathers and sharpen the pitch forks boys we got ourselves a village idiot that needs running out...

I use a Dell DJ30. It's basically the same as a Creative Zen.

A little offtopic but I a**hole bought last year an b/w display U2 ipod (no, i'm not an U2 fan but the shop didn't have other ones) and a few days later the iPods with the color displays came... :`( Sh*t!
What I don't like about the iPods, and Apple in general, is that they seem to make a new version of all their shit every year. For the disgusting prices they demand you'd think I could maybe get a "loyal customer discount" after having used macs for 10 years.

As for the iPod Vs Creative Argument,
iPod's are nice and all and I wouldn't mind if someone gave me one, but when my money is there to spent I'd be with creative everytime. Firstly the sound quality through decent headphones (and the standard ones) is far greater than any iPods I've ever heard. Also the whole style of the iPod has a much more pop culture look to it in my opinion, the creative range just seems to be more diverse.
As for the whole "oo but my popPod has a camera and a big screen and can play videos" argument, my Mp3 player is exactly that, it plays Mp3's, it plays them in great quality and last time I checked you can't watch a video when it's in your pocket. If I want to watch movies I have a my miniature vaio which works much better then the 3 inch screen on your iPod. As for the camera, well I have a nice enough camera on my phone for any random pictures that I need, I do not need yet another one.

Let's give Apple their dues, they have a fantastic marketing department but are not making 'cutting edge' players. Hell the old rio I had back in 2000 basically had the same functionality as the Ipod does at the moment just with a lower battery life and less space (ahh the old days when 6 hours of charge was an eternity) and it was built as solid as a rock.
I prefer the sony atrac players over any of the mp3 players about, smaller unit, better compression rate (there is some argument regarding lower bit rate and loss of sound quality but I don't notice the difference when at the gym or about town), longer battery life. As for sound quality, unless you are wearing exceedingly expensive headphones (D.J. Style or Active Sound reducing ones) I don't think your going to notice much of a difference, especially where bass is concerned......

iPods are for the commercially naive.
The Sony walkmans are OK, i know a couple of friends with em and it plays the music quite nicely. I use my PSP for any music which isnt alot as i tend to use my little radio walkman thingy most. The sandisk MP3 player looks good and idk bout the creative tbh. I mean iPods...my mates have em and they usually send a few back due to disk failures or jammed buttons or something. One of em is on their 5th ipod mini whos minidrive broke three times. Another has his 2nd ipod nano as the screen shattered in his pocket and the same guy has 2 shuffles one which no longer works in data transferral.
Brilliant workmanship, specially if you overwork chinese. iTunes sucks too.
