Alright so I am trying to get a website/forum up for us vehicle whores (I am slowly becoming a chopper whore.)  Yes this is like the wookie clan except this is about vehicles.  I was wondering if there is someone out there who would be willing to make me a website/forum through their knowledge of coding.  Right now I have some cheap forum site that isn't going to good (see sig)

So any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are looking at approx US$7/year for a domain name and US$50 for hosting. So say approx $60 to get started.

Have a look here at this site for different prices and domain name availability. http://www.ezzydomains.com/  I use these guys for hosting clients websites and have never had major problems.

You will need someone permanent who knows what they are doing, to administer the website, and depending on the delivery system for your content, to check/update your forum/portal software with security patches as they become available ( with some this is more often than others ).

I can help you with some of this on a temporary basis if you plan to go ahead with the site but the main thing you will need is members. See how this thread ( or another more specific maybe ) goes and see what sort of public support for such a web site you would receive.

It is easy to say 'built it and they will come', but it will cost you $60 to find out that way.

So yes I can help you if you need it but I would check the public support for the site first.

No need to pay for hosting for a small site.  You can always get an upgrade using adverts if it gets too popular.  My favourite free one at the moment is brinkster... free php hosting, no ads, free databases.  http://www.brinkster.com/

edit: and you could rip the users and posts from that phpbb into a punbb very easily, it's much friendlier to use from every perspective (thanks to Chuy for making me realise).

How do I change the phpbb into a punbb?  Is it free.....?
