This is what happened peeps. Ive ran this system many years, and have never had an audio issue. I used to be into BF2 major. Had a kid and shit now i went to reinstall. I instaled BF2/BF2SF/POE2 in the same night. I woke up to play and Ventrilo is all messed up. Alot of static coming thru my mic, not to mention they can barely hear ecspecially witht he static. MIC BOOST on, outbound cranked they still have to ask what??? Any information u may have would really help. What ive tried is uninstalling all audio codecs and reinstalling them. For some funny reason under device manager it still says no drivers for truespeech, and GSM 6.10. Well anything u coul throw at me would be appreciated. THANKS!!!!

1) update your drivers
2) google/download the two missing drivers
EDIT: do you use a USB headset or a Jack set?

hi and welcome.
1) What sound card do you have? is it onbaord?
2)If onboard whats your motherbaord model, if not on board model of sound card.

Chip is onboard Nforce2 chipset. Headset is jack not USB. Have tried to find the drivers, and no such luck. I appreciate the help so far maybe this will help out a bit more. Also keep in mind this is not just vent. TS/Vent/VOIP in BF2/MSN anywhere i go i can barely be heard along with the background of niagra falls.

is it in ventrilo only or is it on all programs? and are u sure it isnt your mike?
it is in all programs. guess it could be my mic but it was right after BF2 install. Seems kinda odd considering VOIP is known to mess up audio.
uninstall the VoIP protocols
stick in your BF2 CD -> control panel -> add/remove programs -> BF2 -> Uninstall -> Bf2 menu thingie -> repair -> deselect VoIP checkbox -> OK
If that works, it's you're VoIP and you can either not use it or try reinstalling it. If that don't work, post back or PM me

ive uninstalled all of BF2, and removes all audio drivers, and reinstalled, and i still sound quiet with the nast background. put when i look under device manager says no drivers for GSM or Truespeech, but no matter what codec pack i get and install. Still says no drivers. This is my problem or its my mic. Hopefully we find out soon
