I was flying along in my F-35B on Oman today, and I was bored so just flew straight up. Got to a really high altitude, went forward, hit my afterburner...

And got up to 3420 mph! (before I went out of control and then died).

But the cool thing is, I heard this really cool explosion sound, like a sonic boom, when I hit about 3000 mph. Anyone else notice that?

Cool it's in. Though you'd get a sonic boom at Mach 1... but whatever... sorry if this has been posted about, I did a search.

Interestingly enough the top speed of the F-35 JSF is Mach 1.5
