Well i did a little search on the forum but all the topic about it was full and i did not knew if i could really find my way in those...Anyway

Well i was playing Bf2 this week end and all was alright...I was killing some guys some guys where killing me..the normal rounds you see...but the problem is not there...

Well i shuted off Bf2 for a Little...Gone for Eating some fast food..I come back lunch bf2...The Splash screen appear but the game just wont lunch...Ive tried the classic uninstall and reinstall...Same things...Only the Splash screen show up but finally close down leaving me without my precious bf2 which i enjoy since 1.4 (Yeah I'm weirdo but thats not the point)

So i told myself...Well could be some files issues or whatever and i just made my "Formating" Started from scratch again...I install my video driver,Sound card driver... and all the usual things you see...Finally i install Bf2 run it then...SPLASH SCREEN then nothing...

So is anybody here had similar experience and could be able to give me some hint or way to fix it...Cuz I'm like a junkie of bf2 and i need my dose now

I would like to thanks Anyone which will be able to help me or will at least try

BTW...sorry for my grammar and stuff...English is not my primary language so...

So...you re-formated and it's still doing this?

Start in window mode and see what the error is.

Make a copy of the shortcut you use (so we don't corrupt it).
Now, right-click the shortcut and go to 'Properties' at the bottom.
At the top, there will be three tabs - 'General', 'Shortcut', and 'Compatibility'.
Click 'Shortcut'.
In the 'Target' field, you should see the following:

Code:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1
We want to delete '+fullscreen 1' at the end.

Code:

+fullscreen 1
Hit 'Apply' and double-click the shortcut to launch the game in "windowed mode". It should give you an error, tell us what the error says.

Unfortunatly english is the only language I know. Would you give me a basic english translation of that error message and then I might be able to help you.

Just look at it, use some skillz. It's obviously the "BF2 has encountered a problem and needs to close." error. Send error report/ Don't send. That one.

Haha, the error message box says "Betafield 2". So true, so true.

Mmm, lunch.

its the same error u get wen a page terminates itself... like if ur comp has been on too long and it needs a break... it say sumtin aboot battlefield2 has occured a problem and needs to close down... the 2 buttons ask f u would like to send the error report or not... try sending the error report and see what the duche bag comp nerd at a desk smaller then ur baby sisters dollhouse has to say about your problem... my biggest suggestio is truning your comp off for a few hours and beating your meat... ... if all else fails... go beat your meat hen get back to me pm for help but im eating my meat so im too busy to really help you

Humm well the fact that its called batafield is my own "Creation"

2nd...NEVER EVER SEND THOSE REPORTS!....Windows are like...Goblin....Green...And mean!

Yeah well i can try to give you a little translation of what it say.

" Betafield 2 have encountered an error while running and must shut down.

If you where doing any shaitz save em before the BSOD (Blue screen of death)

Please send this report to microsucks so we wont care and just got some more info on you looking at pron.

I can try to open the " Expanded " report error so some of you could maybe be able to "Decode" anything in this thingies

And it cant be that the comp was runnign for too long...It have been doing it just after i Re-Formated it...Should not have any problem at all.

I've been having the same issue all day today. Basically what happens; I start BF2, the splash screen appears, then it acts like it is going to start BF2 but it stays at a solid black screen. I Ctrl/Alt/Del and it shows that BF2 is not responding. It will sit there at that black screen as long as I will allow it, until I terminate the application.

What really chaps my ass about this whole thing is, I was online playing last night for around three hours or so with no problems whatsoever, not even a server disconnect.

I turned on my computer when I woke up this afternoon and I got this. Nothing has been changed except I ran a Windows Defender scan, which I do quite frequently with no issues.

I've since tried setting all my bios settings back to optimized with no result.

I really dont want to have to reinstall BF2 or winblows but it looks like that is what it may come to. I just hope I don't do it for nothing like you have...

Well I figured it out. I opened my profile in the BF2 folder in my documents. The default refresh rate had somehow been set to 70 hz when I previously had it set at 60. I simply changed the value to 60, saved it, and BF2 started normally. Try making sure that your profile settings are correct.

Hope this helps you too.

If you reinstalled the game, I assume it should have created a default profile folder.

Open My Documents>Battlefield 2>Profiles>Default>Video.

Once you are in here, make sure that the values assigned are the same that you have in your video card settings.

That is where I found it. My Profile folder shows two profiles. One folder is my profile that is labeled 0001, the other is labeled Default.
