Just curious if anyone else that plays Bf2 on x64 Windows is having the same problem as me

I know EA didn't make BF2 64bit compatible but It plays nice but after a few hours of playing I lose connection.  It happens on a timely fashion about 4.5 - 5 hours.  If I restart the computer I get another 2 hours before it happens again.  If I don't restart computer then I only get about 5 mins and lose connection again.  My routers firmware is up to date and my network card driver is up to date.  I know it isn't a network problem cause my other pc is still connected so I am not losing My internet connection at all.

It doesn't matter what server I play on, it happens, could have a ping of 17 to 70 doesn't matter
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks General Madness

I can asure you, that Windows isn't the problem! (Working at MS ).
I'm using the x64 Edition, too and after a debug I knew that its not our fault

Hope there will be a patch next time, cuz all the bugs suck hard!!!

When you changed the res, the "optimization process" might went bad, and didnt complete properly and as a result you are playing in segments of your gpu's core.

Try to lower the res to your previous, and let the whole optimization proccess complete. After that, change again to the requested res. again, wait for the proccess to finish, and then.. tell us what happened.

OK still getting dropped by game Lost Connection to Server Error after 1 round maybe 2.  I have latest router firmware installed for my Dlink 4100.  I have the latest Nvidia Drivers, all Updates for Windows 64 bit version.  It is not an ISP problem as I am online playing and using my older computer for TS and admin programs for my clan.

This is my rig
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe NF4 SLI MotherBoard, AMD X2 4800 CPU,
2gigs Kingston  Hyper X PC3200 DDR ram in 4 512 modules,
Dual NVidia GeForce 7800 GTX Video cards, 74 Gig WD Raptor HD and 200 Gig WD HD
Case Fan, Silverstone SST-FP52 Fan cntrl, Enermax Noisetaker 600 Watt power supply,
Coolermaster AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Fan, Floppy, DVDRW, Audigy2 ZS Plat Pro Sound Card,
all in a Black Metal Nemesis NZXT Case with side fan and Blue Cold Cathode light.  and a few other things network card which drivers have been updated on that as well.  Logitech MX518 gaming mouse and my Zboard with BF2 keyset.

I thought about overheating but with a total of 8 fans, when game stops with error here are my temps

Video card 1 65°C
Video card 2 69°C
CPU 40°C
Motherboard 49°C
HD 1   33°C

ummm have your video cards seem to be running a lilttle hott but that wouldn't cause a connection loss that would cause either a. windows to crash or b. bf2 to crash or start running slugish

by the way.. new updates to my setup

amd 64 3500+
asus a8n-sli deluxe
4 gigs of OCZ PC3200
2 WDG 10k Raptors in Raid 0

I had this problem and there's one thing that you and I have in common - an X2 processor.

Here's what fixed it for me. I tested it a few times and the fix was the only thing different and the problem has never reappeared.

Get hold of an executable called Prioaff from here: http://www.valhallalegends.com/adron/prioaff/prioaff.zip

bung the unpacked .exe somewhere (mine's in C:\WINDOWS) and change your BF2 shortcut to say this:

C:\WINDOWS\prioaff.exe 3 10 "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

or wherever you keep your executables.

Now I am in BF2 Heaven...

I have been running XP 64 for about a month now and I've never lost connection from a server and have played up to 5 hours straight.

My rig is:

A8N Nforce4 Mobo 939 Socket
3700+ San Diego processor
4 Gig Corssair Value Select
7800GT 256MB
Dual 80GB 7500 Seagate Baracuda's Raid 0 config
550W PSU

nothing is OC'd and everything runs normal temps.

So I'm either extremely lucky or it's not XP 64 causing your problem.
