So what card is better my friend telling me that the X1900GT owns 7900GT ass off coz he got that card and i got 7900GT so im asking what card is better then.

The ATI card does not OWN...
Here is the deal, with NO AA or Ansio-filtering ON,
Both cards are similar in performance at low resolutions and at higher resolutions.
When AA is about 4x and ansio-filt. is about 4x to 8x, this is about what happens
At resolution
1024 x 768 - Nvidia is about 5-10% faster
1280 x 1024 - ATI is the same as Nvidia (or ATI is 0-5% faster)
1600 x 1200 - ATI is about 15-20% faster
2048 x 1536 - ATI is about 25% faster
So you should realize that means this: you can run an ATI card at the about same speed as NVIDIA,
but at a higher resolution,
ATI = resolution 1600 x 1200
while the Nvidia is at 1280 x 1024
... the frame rate (FPS) would be the same though the image quality on the ATI would be slightly better
because of the higher resolution.
This applies to single card configurations ONLY.
Crossfire sucks in comparision to SLI - both from a driver quality standpoint and performance... overall quality of NVIDIA drivers is better than ATI from my experience with both cards.

well, i like the x1900xt over the 7900gt personally, cause i own the ATi. i get max fps in BF2 with everything at high, and the drivers are way better than any nvidia drivers i used with my old card (6600gt 128mb).
I gotta say this: When I first started playing BF2 I had an ATI Radion. I saw all of the stuff about BF2 being "tuned for nVidia" and said "Pft!" I now have an nVidia card and game play is SO much better!!!!
If BF2 and other FPS are your thing - it's the nVidia card all the way.
