- Anyone use a joystick to fly helos? Got a question for you...
i hate the twist ones they are too hard to use, thats why i use the original ones.sneakers-n-ointment wrote:
Apparently some people don't use a joystick for helos. I just got one, and I love it for planes, and it's nice for helos, but ffs, for some reason my joystick's twist left/right is inverted in game. I would guess it would do that for everyone. I bought it all psyched about the twist function but it's mirrored and it's making it almost impossible to fly.
So has anyone fixed this problem, or even have it?
I should have inlcluded the solo-TV question but I'm afraid I took for granted that it was common practice by now.SargeV1.4 wrote:
Well, normally one moves his or her hands onto their keyboards/mice and proceeds to fire said TV missle without trouble.Ajax_the_Great1 wrote:
So if you fly the heli with a joystick, how are you supposed to solo tv or solo gun?
At least, I have no trouble moving my arms/hands
do you?
Personally I would have a hard time switching and shooting very smoothly if I were to alternate between Joystick and mouse/keyboard but I guess it works for you.
Good thing i have tried to use the joystick for a few days, and could fly fine, but found that I was much more precise with my keyboard than with a joystick or mouse. i can fly keyboard/mouse too, and do when soloing alot so I can get my TV off faster, but whenever something requires speed, precision, or extreme maneuvers, i always go straight keyboard.SargeV1.4 wrote:
Why don't some of you actually try using a joystick for choppers instead of using it for 2 rounds, going 'meh', and spamming your bullshit on forums?
mouse + keyboard ftw( i love soloing )
Me...
Jet ---> Joystick
Helo ---> Mouse / Keyboard
Tank ---> Joystick / Keyboard and Miuse
I know you guys think... "Tank with a Joystick? WTF?"
It just takes practice when you need to "AIM"... Besides... Most of the tanks in the "Real World"... Drive, Shoot and Scan with a Joystick...

2 Months ago, i would have defended joystick flying in choppers 100%. but since i learned to fly with the mouse, i love it. as long as im alone in the chopper .
the only thing the mouse cant do is stunt flying, for the rest it does work (exept in planes, no discusion possable)
anyway: i have not read it all, but in reply to the first post: just rebind the axis in bf2???? problem fixed
