I will also add that BF2 to me is a lot about having a good time. I like to make a squad with my friend. we frag and laugh and that's fine. how were playing it? he's the leader, rest follows, including me, or the other way around. people wanna join the squad? fine! he's still the leader. dont join to spawn in just any other place. only time we kicked people from the squad (we never lock though) is when we had 4 snipers  and they would spawn all over the place, never on the leader or even close to the targeted flag. we like to have other guys in the squad just as far as it makes the squad stronger. we go for the flags. kills are a given.

I've never been much of a loneworlf player, but now I have got comms sorted out and got a small group of mates playing, it works so well, yeah we are nothing special at the game but its alot more fun. To me thats the point to it all.

Well, the main reason, as stated a few posts back, is spawning on the leader.  It is usually in the worst spot or at the worst time.  I like to spawn away from all the "dots" and make my way up to the battle.

The best squad leaders I've played with are actually the ones who tell us to wait to spawn until the right time.  Those that request certain kits to spawn.

As you've said, it sucks spawning into a nade fest or a PKM alley.  Most times, much better to spawn at a nearby flag and catch up.

that's what squads are for. me and my buddy mostly play medic. but at certain times he will call for AT, cause e.g., he's blocked on a flag with an APC taking it over, so I come with the heavier stuff... BOOOOOMMM!
the way I like to play, this game is tons of fun when you got the right people on TS

i join squads only when i am playin with my real life friends... only other time you ll find me in a squad is either because i am in a chopper and i have found my dream pilot or gunner or i need to request stuff (supplies, cars...) otherwise, i role alone.. don't need some jackass i dont know spawning in my chopper out of nowhere
wtf are you doing taking off without a gunner?
great..  Even better,m a lonewolf pilot.  You know commanders can point out targets for you right?
I suppose you're also the type to tk for the chopper and take off alone, only to get shot down alone?
