Nintendo has announced the release of the Wii in the US on November 19, 2 weeks before the Japanese release on December 2nd, for 250 USD.

Think the price will be enough to crack through the Sony and Microsoft (mostly sony) dominance of the market?
I'm not a big fan of Nintendo but if the machine is good I'll consider it. I hear the graphics are a mere miniscule above that of the GC so right now I'm in the "Wii don't care about Nintendo" boat.

Fuck the graphics, the graphics doesnt make the game good the gameplay does. think the ps2 pretty good graphics and 10000000 games and only 1% of then were anygood.

The wii is revolutionary and looks fun, im getting one on the release day . The games will be goood ie Zelda twilight princess, hopefully a new mario kart, super smach brother brawl (Oh yes!!)

Fuck the ps3 and xbox360, wii will be great!

No, graphics don't make the game good, but they don't hurt. PS2 had slightly more than 1% fun games, sheesh.

fuck no, zelda games are amazing.

i can't wait for the wii, the new controller system worried me at first, but after i heard you can still use old GC controllers, i'm happy. plus, after hearing all the new games coming out for it, i reckon it's going to rock with this new controller.

Yeah I know people like the Wii and Nintendo, see my other posts regarding Nintendo (I don't hate them, calm down, sheesh).

Sony and Microsoft own the market, and have for a long time, I think that's where I started.

I am looking forward to trying the controller. It seems to be odd enough to either be great or terrible.

edit: Since Nintendo and Sony are both releasing motion sensitive controllers, do you think Microsoft will try and copy their idea and release motion sensitive 360 controllers in the near future?

Two words apply here. Red Steel. I'll buy a Wii just to play that. I do think that microsoft will try the motion sensitive controller idea as sony has already decided to copy Nintendo. Just as they did with the analogue sticks.

I played Gamecube for 3 series of games, Mario party, Fifa, and Extreme G (some futuristic racing game). Other than that, i'll stick to my xbox and system link with 10 other people.

shit ya wii FTW!!!! smash borhter, mario kart, mario tennis, zelda, etc...... id pass up stellar graphics too if the gameplay is fun. i just hope wii goes online like 360 and ps3. can you imagine playing all those games with the remote sensor. wii would kill all the other consoles out there no questions asked!

I'm pretty sure the Wii will be online. On a related note, and I haven't found proof yet, I just heard a rumor that the PS3 online will have a monthly fee. Yuck if so.

Flecco: Atari was the first with an analog stick, and Sony had a dual analog stick controller after that (for PC).

Wrong. 250 USD is for the bundle version (Wii + Wii Sports). Wii only is 215 USD, so Wii in Europe should be around 200€ (maybe 150£).
