I heard nothing of these goodies, all I knew is if I play the week its released I get a rank and an unlock or some shit.

I played the second beta, which seemed pretty poor to me.
BF2 got me hooked for its believable realism, BF2142 had nothing, just an uninspiring mod.

what is questionable is the quality of programming from DICE Sweden. if 2142 has the same craptastic problems and even more problems than Battlefield 2, then by all i am not going to buy it .. period.
I remember when Bf2 came out and for the first few months, it had problems here and there, the last 6 months the problems started poring in like the hover dam breaking and spilling all the water on the homes below it ( yeah those homes is basically people that play that game).
and the biggest concern of all is all the freakin morons, idiots, noobs, stupid admis , and teamkillers who pretty much ruined Bf2 for all of us: go buy a copy of 2142 and play the game and ultimately do the same old crap.
i am retired from playing Battlefield 2 as a First Lieutenant. i am not playing this game anymore because of all the stupidity and insanity that people do. no teamwork, no coooperation, no defending or capturing of flags, just endless flaming in the chat area.

I don't know if I'm going to get it. I'm going to play the demo a lot and give it a fair shake, but it's certainly not a sure thing.
