Never got drunk? Me neither cause i get headaches when i drink too much. But i seriously had the most fun while drinking with my friends while dancing or talking. It's how you react on the alcohol i think...Rosse_modest wrote:
Ah, I knew the alcohol point was going to come up. But here's the thing: Alcohol, when used in moderation is not addictive. Alcohol doesn't necessarily get you drunk. Alcohol consumption to the point where it gets you intoxicated should be illegal also. There is some legislation on this (it is illegal to be drunk in public, but this should be expanded to being drunk in general) but there is practically no enforcement of this law.Sandriatinhi wrote:

Why are most people getting drunk in weekends then?
And how much damage does that drinking do to your liver or brain? I'm not even talking about the agression(death/wounded by fights) caused by alcohol.
No the alcohol is legalized, so it is not so bad they say..... No man sorry you don't know what you are talking about. I've seen a documentary about alcoholics and they even said that alcohol is the most destructive drug in the world.
I know full well the damage excessive alcohol use and addiction can do, thank you. Do I use alcohol? Yes. Have I ever gotten drunk? Never. A lot of people think getting drunk is like really fun. I think getting drunk is a f****** disgrace.
Disgrace? I don't give a damn what people think of me. I just do what i like, when people don't like that, they can kiss my ass. I just don't care...
Alcohol? And i haven't even started on tabacco!
You smoke it and you don't even get high. Whats the point of smoking?
Alcohol in moderation not addictive? No way, my dad drinks a beer or 2 everyday! It's good for elderly people to drink, i know that, but don't you think its al little addictive? The "handeling" is addictive not the alcohol.
I really agree with you on the addiction with weed. I also like to smoke some. But if i want i can stop anytime. Like on holidays when its not possible, i have no problem with it. When its not there i have no need for it. But my point is that legalisation creates less alcohol/hard drug addicts. First when weed/hasj is illegal the step to speed, coke, xtc is easier to take, cause it are all bad drugs (as you say it!). How many people died of smoking weed? And how many from alcohol?
Real smokers dont do alchol excessively for the most part. And doesn't the blunts help us getting some inspiration for artforms? Some DJ's create sicker beats while high! Then i'm not even talking about our great artists. Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Morisson...
What is the problem (in your opinion) when i get home from a long week of hard working and i take a big blunt with a Coke instead of some beer with my matches at Mass Destruction?

There is no point in smoking tobacco other than succumbing to group pressure because you are too weak to stand your own ground. Smoking does not bring any feeling worth experiencing until you have become addicted to the nicotine. I have tried smoking different cigarrette brands for a couple of weeks to see for myself if smoking addiction itself was nothing more than the result of individual weakness and found nothing worth lighting a cigarette for. Therefore, smoking should be banned completely. There is of course also the matter of smoking women: kissing them is like licking out an ashtray (yes I've done so - kissed a smoker that is) and kind of takes away all eroticism from the kiss, so SMOKING IS BAD!!!Sandriatinhi wrote:

Yes, the habit of getting drunk from alcohol can be addictive - alcohol in itself however is not. The problem with these addictions however lies not with the substance of addiction, but with the people themselves, who fail miserably at managing alcohol consumption beyond the point where it starts to affect your senses and level of awareness. Therefore, one simple rule: don't get drunk.
Let's say drugs do either one of two things or both (not taking into account detrimental of positive effects to one's physical health): alter your awareness and/or form an addiction.Sandriatinhi wrote:

Weed and alcohol are very similar, from a certain point of view, even though one is smoked and the other is drank. Weed and cigerettes, though used in a similar fashion, are on the other hand quite different. Cigarettes are addictive. End of sentence. Weed alters your awareness, I do not believe it is all that addictive on its own.
Comparing weed and alcohol, both alter your awareness. Addictions of both alcohol and weed are not inherent to alcohol and weed themselves. There is however one small difference, you can drink a beer without it affecting your mind, but you can't smoke a joint without the alteration. And that's where my core issue lies with weed. In my opinion using any kind of substance that alters your awareness is wrong and criminal and belongs in the same category as inflicting psychological and physical harm. It is temporarily killing yourself by causing your brain to shortcircuit. Like magically splitting yourself in two BF2 characters on the same team, 1 medic and 1 random. You then kill the random, leave him lying there dead for a while ("high"), then when the weed's magical effects have dissipated you pop out the shock paddles and *ZAP* "You'll live buddy, now get back to the fight.". Reviving him still doesn't change the fact that you teamkilled!
i live in holland . and i like it wouldnt change it for any other country
If I go anywhere, it's going to be Canada (though I've already been there), Ireland or Scotland.
Wouldn't mind seeing Wales either.

But we do live in a democracy, my friend! And when someone wants to destroy his body/mind whatever then that should be his/her choice, not?? I think that should never be criminal. It's the governments duty to prevent the dope to reach consumers, but the use should be legalized.
Example:
I am mad cause i keep dying with BF2 and i hit my desk so hard that my arm breaks then i should be prosecuted for inflicting physical harm? Or should i have some proof that i didn't do it un porpose? That doesn't make any sense...
I love your explaination about the-braindamage-and-"reviving"-your-mind story! +1 for you! But still i'm going to light a big one up when i'm home, cause i think it doesn't cause as much damage as you define...
