Maybe i should've put quotations around the IF in my statement to emphasize that this is only speculation.  And i didn't start this rumor.  Its been floating around for a couple of weeks now. The fact that the system will or won't be shut down is irrelevant considering that a large majority of BF2 players will transition over to 2142.  Leaving EA to ponder whether or not spending the money to keep up the ranking system for BF2 is worth it.  Whether it happens a 10 years from now or when 2142 comes out, we'll just have to wait and see.

BTW I am not suggesting that you started the rumor, but if you repeat what you heard in the past then some moron will take that and repeat it on another forum then the madness begins.  You know how that game works right?  LOL
