Not all ISPs do assign dynamic IP addresses. Quite a few (of which some charge for the "privilege") assign static IP addresses to individual users.
yeah yeah true...just mostly if you are paying for a static, you know about it. I assumed it since he didn't mention it.
Just some insight...to those who don't know. There aren't enough IP addresses to lease out in the world. ISP's
hope assume that not everyone in the world will be online at the same time so they have to lease out IP's
randomly that they have in their blocks of numbers. If you were to shut your router off for a day or two, I can almost garauntee that the next time you powered it up, they would have re-leased out your old IP and give you a new one. Just depends on how many customers they have compaired to how many IP's they actually "own".
