Problems with hit detection? Hell yes... since 1.4? No more than usual.
One session a week or so before the patch came out I had approximately 40 shots not register over maybe 15/20 games (pretty sure these were not misses on my part). When you're shooting bullets one at a time this is a maaajor pain in the ass! Definitely seems to be worse when the response from the server isn't great but I'm pretty sure it's not directly related to server load.

inside the building means in an accesible floor of a building.
Ive got a hd with all my wepons i think its just my lag i think the sync, but the headshot you have to aim for the neck not the head because i think it might be the helmet you hit or somthing :S
No, often you actually have to aim above the head entirely; if you aim at the neck at range you'll get a body hit as the bullet falls in flight. If you're pretty close you have to aim for the upper portion of the head/face (nose and up, if he's facing you) to guarantee it's registered as a headshot. Helmet/no helmet makes no difference to whether the shot is an instant kill in BF2.zer0fus10n wrote:

When the target is prone you apparently sometimes have to aim a little backwards of the visible head as the hitbox can be aligned to the player model poorly and aiming for the front of the skull can actually result in a miss.
I stabed a guy 3 times today, then he ran away... then I shot him... I wanted the knife kill though *pout*
ive been hit by a tank shell in a chopper for it to do no damage. Also been rammedy a jet, in a jet, and we both bounce off each other and occasionally lose control and ram the ground..:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

#1. You can stab an opponent multiple times with the knife and not kill them.
#2. Firing the M95/L961 into someone's head doesn't result in a kill. Puff of smoke comes off their head but no damage.
#3. J-10 flying straight as a bird, 6 missles, 0 hits, 0 flares. Hmmmmm
#4. TV missle through one end and out the other of the opponents chopper. Yet it will make a hit BELOW the chopper's tail.
#5. Tank shell does zero damage to a jet. I hit an F-35 square on yesterday and the pilot laughed at me over TS. He confirmed the hit and no damage was dealt.
EA's looking for realism......well.....that ship set sail without them many moons ago.

Yesterday I was on Jalalabad and I ran up to a guy with an AK-101 and put 10 bullets into his face. The funny thing was that nothing happened
I just thought I'd loaded up with rubber bullets
Hit detection has always been horrible in this game. However, I have notice more trouble with rubber knives and phantom sraws lately. Moving jeeps/buggies seem to be harder to hit in general now. I have had tank shells explode on them and sraws go right through to no effect. Seems to especially be a problem when they are moving towards me. Sniper shots still seem fine as long as I have a good ping.

Two instances on this one. The G36E used to be a sure shot prior to 1.4, now it seems inconsistant. Almost need twice the ammo to bring somebody down from an accuracy standpoint. Also, yesterday I was gunning in a Apache on Ghost Town. I unloaded on a guy who prceeded to dance in my bullets. 50 Meters away, unloaded the cannon, until overheat, and dude just stood there. WTF??? My pilot couldn't believe it.
Now, my only question is, do you think that the hit box is adjusted for INFANTRY ONLY combat? It seems that in rounds that I play with vehicles, the hit box is spot on.

Agreed, vehicles and armor hit detection is uncanny...usually 1 shot is all it takes for all gun mounted weapons on vehicles.

well i dont have much problems with the hit detection, its the connection errors that are making me angry now lol
Might be a latency issue.I've noticed when strafing it seems harder to make a kill than it was before.
why are the vehicle mounted guns kill in 1 shot with unlimited ammo???

on topic: ive not noticed any major difference with the hitboxes (shit as ever ) but i have had many Phantom-SRAWs, but ony on people. i hit cars/tanks/choppers ok, but ive missed many a person with a perfect aim.
