So I was going for vet Medic today. There were three tickets left in the round, and I had 19 kills. There was one MEC guy standing in front of me. I whipped out the knife, jabbed him with it, and several of the 'dust puffs' came out. As soon as I knifed him, the game proudly proclaimed USMC team the winner. I can only hope that it counted as a kill, I didn't get the vet Medic message, but that was a pain in the ass to get.
just jump in an APC u'll be sweet.
When they display the stats at the end of the round, did it say 20 kills?

Next time dont take your knife if the round have only 3 tickets left... kill him whit the gun its ab i faster
I was out of ammo, and three meters away. Thanks crappy BF2 hit detection. It's not a big deal, I'll just do it tomorrow, just felt like venting some spleen.
ok im not sure exactly what your trying to show here.. i'll leave it.senor_fulff wrote:

im just saying, if hes already done the hard yards it'd be an easy way to recover what he has.
its actually not crappy hit detection, in some previous patch (1.2?) the knife was made so that often you have to stab 2 or 3 times to get a kill, getting those unsatisfying white puffs. i know theres a difference because knifing in 1.12 was a one hit almost all of the time. dont know why exactly DICE would want to make knifing any harder, unless their plan is to slowly kill infantry altogether by the time 2142 comes out.greenhaven wrote:

ehh medic badges are easy to get
The white puff is an indication of you hitting their character's image, not their hitbox, meaning yes, their is crappy hit detection.t0mhank5 wrote:

He did it whilst riding a donkey.

i had read in an EA forum about "adjustments made to the knife" in 1.2 to make it less easy to use. so i cant say that i agree with you darky in that the hitbox detection was unintentionally fucked up post-1.2, unless DICE canada is really that bad with code. they may have reduced hitbox detection on purpose, however.
Sure. Ok. Let's intentionally fuck up the game. Then we can say we did it unintentionally, and we meant to send people crazy.t0mhank5 wrote:
