Alright i just got a new laptop and i cant seem to get it connected to my network, the internet is working fine but i cant share files with other computers on my network. (lately also on my other computers i cant see the other computers on my network in My Network Place ??) any ideas?

try reseting the router (assuming you have one). I find that it helps when all your comps are in the same workgroup. and of course try what smokey said. hope that helps
Yea my computer is in the same workgroup. ill try restarting the router.
Have you shared your hard drive?? It sounds dumb I know, thats the main reason why pcs cant share data.
And set the share to "allow network users to change my files" another reason why files cant be moved.

Some application firewalls have a separate setting for allowing or blocking network neighbourhoof traffic. Check it's enabled on all comps. But be darn sure you're behind a separate firewall (like one in your ADSL box or similar) if you enable it.
