hey guys i just used the search button so please dont flame me, the probem is i just got my new hanns-g 19lcd widescreen lcd monitor 5ms refresh rate and i looked at www. widescreengaming.com and  followed the steps to set my game to run in bf2.  this is what it told me to put in the target field "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200 and all i get is a CTD after the splash screen, i saw that other people has this problem aswell and someone said that i have to edit my video.con file. so i opened it up and the guy said to change this line "VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@60Hz" which is was my current resolution, he said to change the digits to my preffered resolution so i did ""VideoSettings.setResolution 1680x1050@60Hz" and all it does is CTD

Any help would be great

Tnx in advance

Are you sure your monitor supports 1680x1050?

Is this it:

Black Hanns.G 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor HW-191D, 5ms, 1440 x 900, 700:1, w/ Speakers

If so you cant use those settings.

Yeah, WS res for 19" is 1440 x 900. Setting the game to run at anything more will cause you to CTD. With the correct settings made to the shortcut there's no need to edit the config files.

Ummm looks nice. I would look at a bigger power supply for 2 7950's.

And 15FPS? You need to turn some settings down... How can you even move with it being that low.

A better PSU would be a good idea. 400w is cutting it close for that card, and I've never heard of that brand, so I wouldn't trust it. Get a good 500w or higher from Enermax, FSP or OCZ and you should be set.

Just make sure you have a 550+ like he says I have a 7950 you need more then a 400W power supply.

That's not necessarily true. You get some 19" WS LCDs that are 1680x1050 native.

I've never seen, and still can't find any 19" WS LCD with 1680 x 1050 resolution. All I can find at that res are 20.1 & 22". 1440 x 900 is the norm for 19", but I suppose 1680 x 1050 might be an exception. Could you post a link to one?

Not sure about the brand of Graphics card you're buying.. But ALWAYS remember to buy a card with the amount of ram you need (1 GB of GPU mem sounds exessive). No more. If you have more ram than you need in the card, it will waste bandwidth, power and processing when you dont use it. It's sorta like buying a pickup truck when you only have to drive 5 miles to work on a nice well paved street. It will cost you more "gas" (power), take up more space in your driveway and parking zones (bandwidth), and you cant cruise as fast as the equally priced mustang (speed/processing).

Also look at the speed of your RAM blocks. Cheap 1 GB blocks are a LOT slower than cheap 512 MB blocks. So if you're getting 1GB mem blocks with a high latency, I'd suggest either spending a bit more on low latency memory, or going for 4 cheaper, low latency, 512MB blocks (assuming your board can take 4 blocks). Having four blocks will also on some boards mean that you can take advantage of a SECOND memory bus for even faster RAM speeds (sorta like dual dual memory).

As everyone else has pointed out, you may need more power than the PSU you have indicated aswell.

Other than that. If the NIC on onboard on an Nforce chipset, you need to tweak a lot of settings to get decent speed out of it, but that's only like 10 minutes of work, not worth getting a better NIC for, but you need to be aware of the required effort.
