In the BIOS disable "Quick POST" and see what the CPU shows as in the POST screens as the PC boots.

Most likely the CPU isn't running at the correct speed.

Alternatively right click My Computer on the XP desktop and select properties. Make sure the CPU is correctly identified in the info that is displayed.

It is correctly identified, and says it is running at the right speed.

i guess you dont have any old bechmarks to compare it to?. also turn off c & q so it will always run at its rated speed

are your bios settings correct? maybe the ram is runniing on some crazy divider

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Umm all i know is that is was an AMD Athlon 64 3000+, I think it ran at 1.8Ghz. Over the past day though it has seem likes its been a little bit faster. But i'm not sure.

If the speed of the 128 is slower than the 1meg stick, yes. A slow stick will force the fast one to run at slow speed.
