Massively weird problem

BF2 no longer works for me. I log on fine and everything now, but when I join a server and everything loads, i can't move my mouse, but I can hear everything that's going on and I can see stuff happening in between the gaps on the spawn screen. I can also see when people die. But I can't spawn, can't do anything. Even trying to press esc to go into the menu doesn't work.

But, when I close BF2 w/ Alt+F4 and then log on as my defaultplayer local account, it works in single player mode! So then I log on as my internet account and try to go into a single player game and the same problem, I can't move or anything.

Has anyone else had this problem or know anything to try????

Any help is appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem, havent tried a full reinstall of everything yet but that would just be murder

Wow, so this really sucks. I can't play BF2 at all. I tried joining the 1 non punk buster server I could find, and I get the same thing, so it's not a punk buster problem. So has anyone else had this problem or can think of a solution besides a reinstall?

Just done a full reinstall of the entire game, removed SF and BF2 then installed BF2, installed SF and let it patch. Then i installed the 1.12 patch, get into a game, and its still messed up

There is a random hardware-glitch mismatch in either (or both) your shader cache files or account profiles
You need to delete your account profiles (and possibly shader cache) in the mydocuments/battlefield 2 folder.
Then open BF2 manage accounts - retrieve account [by nick or email address/& password],
reset ALL your game, video, sound settings to your taste,
Let it make your optimized shaders over and you should be good to go - no get back to fight! LOL

Note:
Delete the folders in the mydocuments/battlefield 2/mods/cache/ (not the cache directory).
Delete the folders in the mydocuments/battlefield 2/profiles/ (not the profile directory).

This works for most. . .
. . . be sure to double check the naming conventions, I am at work, and this
is to the best of my recollection.

Thanks, ran a few searches on gogoel and only checked this now, will try resetting all my controls IG first, supposedly works (as wouldnt deleting profile stuff reset controls too?).

Yes, checked my controls and NONE at all were mapped, just reset them to default again and will let you know

Deleting removes HARD-drive random errors - as heads-dropping onto a magnetic-surface unexpectedly - might have subtly disturbed the file (or files) and corrupted it's content. Deleting them removes the error that causes the game to CRASH! And of course the settings are all returned to DEFAULT. Sometime just resetting to DEFAULT will stop the game-load crashes other times not.

Deleting and retreiving your account only takes a few minutes more time - the choice is yours.

ok so i had this problem only it crashed at the end of an beautiful round and my stats haven't updadted sence (it was about 6 hours ago)
man i hope its just slow and didn't forget my stats because that round i had like 150 points got vet medic and legion of merit ribbon.

oh and no update from the games i have played sence

Hey uks4z,
I think we were in the same server last night for awhile: =LLC= (Late Late Crew), Fushee Pass - I Think?

I [Daddy0TomsterMonste] was chopper piloting and you were gunning - for a moment then something
happened. Tried to pick you up but BEER[isGreat] jumped in. . .

Just a note: but those profile & shader files can cause problems as they must contain hardware specific
info/data. Iif you update drivers, or install new hardware, its best to delete them. . . At least from my
experience.
