The guy started on the street outside of the school, next to a shopping complex. He hit 4 people there, then entered the school's cafeteria and continued his rampage.
One lady has died and the shooter was taken down. The police learned from the 1989 shoooting where 14 women were killed at a university. Back then they created a perimeter and waited for backup from SWAT. This time they entered the school ASAP to prevent a repeat. Seems to have worked.
I don't know if the assault rifle was full auto, they are hard to find in Canada.
the shooter also had a pistol, and 12 gauge from reports on BBC.
the girl who died was a student inside the cafeteria though, she was 18
i havent read much since then. i saw her pic thats it, i guess maybe another died who was in critical condition, 4 victims where critical.. the rest had either bumps and bruises or actual gun shot wounds
it can happen anywhere folks...at least it wasnt here!!. its not just a US thing

in Totonto i heard about it pretty much while it was happening and it reportedly received international coverage according to this story, which also has a good part about the wounded and how they are recovering

It was all over the BBC news all day, BCC News 24 had the story every 15 minutes because it was one of the headlines.
