Dont get the latest version of this and that and whatnot...get a card that can play for a good 6 months, untill DX10 cards become established. a x1900 should be plenty, or even a x1600 on a budget. but ATi is still beast. not only for BF2, but for CS, GRAW, DODs, Oblivion, EEII, and FEAR (at LEAST 80pfs in each for me with a single x1900xt 512mb)
when is the last time you checked? AMD has been saying "GAMER-TUNED" at least the last 2 years?!aardfrith wrote:

doesnt mean conroe sucks balls....conroe is not only cheaper, but a crapload better in any game then AMD...dont let marketing gimmicks screw with your head.
true. conroe brought intel back to the top with the fastest cpu's around beating AMD on every possible benchmark... stock E6300 is fast, clock it and youll smoke the FX-62[TUF]Whiskey_Oktober wrote:

BUT, when Im told there is but one asus mobo featuring SLI for conroe's socket and nobody's got on stock I start to worry. While I am sure that Intel will rule 2007, I also believe that if you're buying a new cpu now it's safer (trouble-free) to stick with AMD. left alone some stuff I read about people having trouble with their chipset.
ask people you know man and see for your self people are biased esspecially online
i run a x 1600 pro and it performes better then some of my friends sli settups

These are frame rates so higher is better. It looks like the ATI outperforms considerably.
I have a x1900 xtx now, in a couple days I'll have a machine with a 7950 GX2L . I should do an apples to apples comparison.

Ty everyone im nVIDIA fan too ATI suck lol

ATI slightly more powerful
nVidia much more stable
i think the performance advantage of ATI are overwhelmed by the negatives of their unpredictability.

what unpredictability would that be.
i've never had 1 issue with any of my ati cards from a 9250 to my 1800xt

I see you like to base your opinion on mindless marketing gibberish such as "GAMER-TUNED" (whoah that sounds like some SERIOUS technology there).....how about you go read some (recent) in-depth tech analysis, ponder it over for a bit, and then get back to us with an informed opinion?Rogue_Delta wrote:

In general, the folks who are paid to dream up catchy phrases like "GAMER-TUNED" often could not tell you the difference between a bit and a byte.
Here's my beatuful in-game screenies of my XFX7900GT:

I have decided on getting a X1900XT or XT-X instead of an NVIDIA, you have been warned.

XT-X doesn't have much of a great difference form the XT.. 512mb memory isn't really utilized unless you run games OVER 1600x1200..
Looks like you're over heating due to too much overclocking or having a shit load of dust in your rig.ssonrats wrote:

Clean the case and drop the frequensies and see the difference!
No OC and dust free, i sent it back.
The nyou were out of luck. Don't loose your trust on Nvidiassonrats wrote:

I have a BMW 530D which has had problems from day one but I still don't think all BMWs suck. It's just this vehicle (Problem free after a few visits to the repair shop)
I think someone just has outdated driver problems or doesn't have adequate cooling.ssonrats wrote:

My twin 7800Gts produce more heat then the CPU. Mine would actually overheat because the case couldn't circulate air fast enough, but thats when the power tools stepped in.

It was after the conroe chips came out. Probably after reading the review/test of the extreme versionRogue_Delta wrote:
