um, try FilePlanet. you'll have to go through a little registration, but nothing much.

if it's in a folder, yes. try using winzip or winRAR.

filefront is better...a lot easier to get files up, and nearly same speeds and no line (thank god).
If your only hosting it for one person, why not just email it and add it as an attachment?
Send it to him in an Email or over Xfire, just compress it into a .rar file to save space. (optional)
