How do you guys make videos with fraps? It makes my FPS drop to frigin 17 no matter what. I wanna make a video in another game, and I get like 300FPS - but I hit record on fraps, and it instantly goes to no higher than 17...wtf!!

If you guys can play that good with 17 FPS, then wow....

make sure your recording Half Size only at 30 FPS, you dont need any more if your going to Stream the Video..

And other then that, i'd suggest getting more ram..

I can run BF2 at about 45-50 fps normally, but when I turn on FRAPS my framerate goes down to about 3. Needless to say, I won't be making any videos.

I have a gig and a half of RAM but my processor is only an Athlon 2700+. I think that's the bottleneck here.

i run bf2 at around 110 fps and it drops to around 75 with fraps recording

try rubbing cheese on your hard drive

it didn't work for me but it might for you.

If i record with Fraps and half-size it always drops to the fps i set in Fraps. Therefore i always set it to 100fps and it works fine.

To all you "i have higger FPS than you" guys:
It doesen´t matter if your FPS is 30, 60, 200, 1000 - human eye can detect lagging only when the FPS is under 30! Absolutly no differece 30vs120, 30vs200 etc.
