I am interested in getting a pc joystick to help me stop getting blow out the sky like an over fat pheasant when flying jets etc.

Can any help me with a recommendation as to what one to get and from where as i dont want to spend a fortune but what want something half decent.

I was recommended this. http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.a … amp;head=0

But hard to get hold of as always out of stock plus with posting from available suppliers comes in at over £50 which I think is expensive for a joystick ( plus I wont be able to get that passed the missus).

Any experienced players out there that can help shed some light on this would be appreciated.

TY in advance.

I got myself one of those after some mates recommended it.  Trouble is, it doesn't have any kind of suction/sticky stuff to hold it on the desk and I find it's hard to control if it lifts up.  But that's just my experience.

I got mine at Comet - I sometimes go in there to laugh at the ridiculous prices they charge but that joystick, they had it for £49.99 in March.

Doneyone I think you misunderstood, he's looking for experienced players

Anywho, I got me a Thrustmaster Top Gun Pro Shock 2, not sure how much.

The joystick you have in the link is the Saitek Cyborg Evo Force which is a force feedback joystick. Force feedback isn't implemented in BF2 so if you're gonna go down this road save yourself some money and just get the standard Cyborg Evo. Here

It's the same joystick but without the force feedback and considerably cheaper. I bought one but I don't fly enough to warrant one so I took it back and bought a Logitech G5 mouse instead

So far thank you for all the input, i have been checking reviews and the most reliable and cost effective so far seems to be this one. http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec … LOG-963290 as suggested by pedigreeuk.  The Saitek Cyborg Evo range seems to be getting a bit of negative feedback and reviews from various people for becoming faulty after a while, although looks the nuts and ergonically is the best but reliability is paramount.

If you do some research, you will also find major complaints of the Logitech failing as well.  The failure results in loss of calibration, and tends to start making planes/helos roll to one side.  I had the Logitech stick and mine did it, my co-worker's did it, at least a dozen people on the hardware forum where I moderate have had this failure, and the same failure is noted on Logitech's own support forums.

I do not recommend the Logitech joystick.

I've got the log as well, and those issues are real, but they seem the same on almost every manufacturer, it's getting hard to find a stick with decent trim control, and it's near impossible to find a store with them on the shelf for you to get your hands on them anymore, I've had various saitek pieces in the past, from pads to sticks, pc's to consoles, and their build quality is pathetic, I only get them for travel pieces, if they get banged around in the suitcase and broke then it's no sweat to plop down another $9.99 for another one

The really unfortunate thing is that the Logitec stick has the best weight, feel, and button numbers/placement of any joystick I have owned.  I just wish it didn't suffer from this serious flaw.  Once my MS Sidewinder goes belly up, I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

I have a Logitech cause it was cheap and it like it a lot, actually, but yes, the calibration freaks out often.  Since I moved from gaming on my laptop to my desktop it seems to have stabilized a bit.  But it could be crap - I don't know - it's the only one I've owned.

Dude, I know what you're talking about. My MS Sidewinder just went out (of course that was after I took it apart to "fix" it). I ended getting a pathetic Saitek ST920 (or something like that) and it kinda sucks. I'm used to have a few more buttons, and the throttle at the back of the stick (instead of perfectly situated on the side as it was with the SW) is causing some difficulty in getting used to it. It was a cheap wal-mart deal to satisfy my flying urge until I can finally find one that says "Yes, I'm the one you've been waiting for. You can twist, beat & bang on my stick all you want and I won't let you down".

I also have a logitech,  ,,,
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ … TID=6954,,
and i really love it,   its really solid and heavy, and the buttons are in the right place.
it also has a nice throttle handle.
and you can download a little program,  where you can adjust the sensitivity and so on.
I personally have the sensitivity on highest,  which makes flying a chopper in BF2 and exspecially POE2 lots of fun
i can recommend it to every1
