You haven't heard much because Clinton failed there.

See, I told you.  Clinton fucked up and nobody wants to talk about it.  If it had been Bush.....there would be 6 pages by now.

Hmmm...well Clinton proved what pulling out too soon and letting the UN take over accomplishes.

Ok, well you presented had it been Bush who did it he'd be crucified here. I'm interested in hearing your hypothetical defense of our fearless leader.

What's all this reference to "could become civil war" in somalia?  Same thing for Iraq when officials and news people say "Iraq 'could' descend into civial war."  Getting pretty tired of that chit mang...  how hard is it to see that Somalia IS in civil war, has been for decades now..Iraq has been in civil war for months now.  duh..

Probably should be some reference to Reagan's economic genius revitalizing the stagnant Somalian economy until evil Clinton ruined it with his oral sex recieving ways.

No.  I jumped on it because it seems all we have here is a bunch of people who were kids during the Clinton years, and seem to forget certain things.  I jumped on it because I had friends in Somalia, one of them died a year later form his wounds.  Everyone gives bubba a pass, and it pisses me off.  I AM NOT A BUSH SUPPORTER.  I hate all politicians.  What I hate is people who just blame one side.  All this section has become is America and Bush bashing, and beleive it or not, that doesn't bother me.  What bothers me is the blind eye turned to everything else.

Forgive me for not studying the Somalian conflict extensively, but did Clinton or anyone in his administration intentionally not send enough troops and/or not equip them properly?

They were not given the fire support they asked for, which got people killed.

Hmm, raises an interesting question for me. Who is really to blame. Clinton sent them there, but was it his failure to not give the fire support or was it one of his subordinates. Same with Bush, he gave the order to go, but did he not give them enough body armor and supplies? Not personally. Different conflicts if you asked me. If Clinton had used the tactics Bush used to go to Iraq I'd be pissed at Clinton. Fact is he didn't.

I'd be happy to criticize Clinton on things he did wrong, but he's not the sitting president.  He hasn't put my life in danger like Bush has.  I support a family of 5 and when Clinton was president, I was comfortable with my financial life...not so now.  With Clinton in office, I freely flew to Europe, Brazil, and around this country.  With Bush, I'm afraid to.

Not everyone is one sided.  I'm neither dem or republican, but because everythng is republican run, and because they utterly suck at every aspect of their jobs (today, Sen. Reid stated that in the 3 years this iraq war has been going on, $350billion spent, not one congressional oversite has occurred), I've got no choice but to pursue answers.

Anyway, not meaning to start a fight..just saying how it is with me.

Sending light infantry into a city full of people with no armor or air cover, is no better than you body armor and supplies remark.  And BTW, the same body armor they used in Somalia, was the same body armor we used in Afghanistan and Iraq for a little while.  Why was that a big deal to everyone?

I thought the issue was that there wasn't enough of it. Could be wrong. Didn't pay too much attention to it but was aware it was a complaint, and I thought it was more of the soldiers  being concerned about it that people like me since they were the ones buying 3rd party body armor.

My biggest issue was Hummers.  They were not designed for what we use them for.
