If you end the wrong task, all of your shotcuts from desktop will disappear. If this happens you just need to reboot.

just go to START,,,,run,,,, and type msconfig.
then click on the startup button,   the 1 on the right.
Then you see a list of thing that runs in te background all the time.   just unmark the ones you dont need,   and presto,  your pc is 25% faster as before.

This will help

Step 1: Start> Run

Step 2: Type in:msconfig

Step 3: Press the Tab: Start Up

Step 4: Untick all the things you dont want running

This will stop unwanted programmes in the start up thus improving start up speed and RAM

Precisely

Getting Enditall means that you also have enditall.exe running... pointless

Um...I do believe there is something referring to this in the manual that came with BF2, it's in there towards the back if I'm not mistaken. Don't shut down anything under the user name system, network service or local service. I don't know if you'll have all of those but I do. From there the only ones you're supposed to leave running are taskmanager and explorer. I leave a few others running like the application for my wireless mouse and a few other ones that you probably don't have. Hope that helps out.

open task manager, processes

type an image name into the process search box, and it will tell you if it's safe to stop this process.  If it is something totally useless, then disable it using msconfig

Start -> Run -> msconfig -> Startup

Untick everything you don't need.
