SCAR-L vs. G36C - Preferences

I just got Special Forces yesterday, and I unlocked the SCAR-L, the G36E, and the F2000... I've played a few games of SF and I'm feeling pretty good about it. It sort of feels like CS with tanks, what with the closer combat than the sweeping feels of vanilla BF2. I fell absolutely in love with the G36K the SAS get (and I bloody wish we could get that as the unlock instead of the G36C!) but I'm not so positive on the SCAR-L.

I really would like to see the hard stats on the SCAR-L, but as far as my experience goes with it, I much prefer the G36C. It feels like the recoil is a bit less, though I like the red dot scope.

Maybe I'm just too acclimatized to the G36C. Anybody have any thoughts?

I like the G36C best. No doubt about it. It might be due to the fact that I have been using it A LOT. But that is all the same to me. I go with the weapon that I feel most comfortable with and the G36C never fails me on accuracy. The fact that it's bigger brother (G36E) is the new medic unlock is just to sweet. And I hear the MG36 is also a really nice weapon.
I am beginning to wonder if H&K gave EA an offer they could not refuse

i stopped using the g36c. i'm back to using the default spec ops guns for all the countries now. i used to hate the ak74u but now i'm loving the extra damage it does. and i've always liked the chinese carbine over the g36, it's ridiculously accurate.

Yeah, the G36E is nice as far as the medic unlock goes, though I'm a little weirded out by the burst setting. I don't like burst fire, I like the manual control... Counter-Strike experience talking I guess. With a real G36 rifle, of course, I'd be firing in bursts, though the option to rock & roll would be there.

But video games aren't reality, so I really don't like the burst fire.

Still, it's nice. I prefer it over the L85, as far as distance shooting goes.

As far as the AK74 goes, I used it all the time before I unlocked the G36C, now I can't really use anything else.

I'd like to try the MG36. Seems like a boatload of fun. Pretty much a G36 with a drum-mag. That makes me smile.

I don't like the SCAR and didn't unlock it. I unlocked the Jackhammer, MP7, F2000, and MG36.
I like how little recoil is on the G36C, and it's great accuracy.

Also, I love the MG36.

I love the SCAR-L - it's a fantastic unlock for SpecOps.
I personally find the weapon very accurate and effective, better than the G36C, in my opinion - Yes...

But I think what it comes down to is are you better with Scopes or Iron Sights...

I want to see the SCAR-H as an unlock for Assualt, that gun is very effective also.

In a real world situ i believe the SCAR-L will out perform the G36C. (Although, HK now have the HK416 which is supposed to be ludicously accurate...)

both are nice, the g36c for its pinpoint accuracy and tiny recoil, the scar-l for its scope and power.

its a toolbox, use em all.

Hmm.. i think i like the SCAR better than the G36C , but i like the G36E better than the SCAR. Now i love playing medic with the g36e unlock.... it's so much better than that L85, well for me at least. The burts fire actually helps me be more accurate, allowing me to make sure my shots connect with the enemy. Great accuracy and power for that gun

The SCAR is just like the regular m4, but has a little more power. I think it's also a good unlock for spec ops if you haven't unlocked it yet.

The mg36 gun is powerful and accurate, but i'm sticking with my lovely PKM. People complain about it's recoil issues, but it doesn't bother me. I've taken down damaged black hawks and cobras with it, and you can't really do that with the standard LMGs.

I wonder why i've always had "bad luck" when it comes to using the g36c. i was unloading on some guy about 6 feet away from me, i must have shot him at least 5 times, and he killed me with his mp7 in like 3 shots while i was full on health!

Scar-L is a waste of unlock. Unfortunately I unlocked it. I never use it I use the original unlock, Although in single shot it's okay. Used the M36 and its not too bad but still prefer the PKM, better dmg.

I'm liking the G36c ... I feel that it has less recoil on the game. But i do like the scope on the scar-l so it's a toss up for me

The question i have is that why can't we use all our unlocks when we play on the SF maps ... I want to use my new unlock for support on the maps but I can't shoose it ... why ... the only time I can is when i'm on the british team. Has any one else run into this.

Everyone runs into this because that's just how EA decided to do it. You're unlocking the guns for use on the vanilla bf2 maps, not SF. The regular unlocks are all you can unlock for use on SF maps.

Edit: Almost forgot. G36C I like it much better then the SCAR-L, so much I chose not to unlock the SCAR. Now I'm just down to deciding between the G36E and the MG36 for my next unlock.

The SCAR-L is really crap, I wish I had chosen the G36E over it at the time, but now I am Master Sergeant so i have every unlock there is. The SCAR-L is accurate, practically the same accuracy as the G36E but when spraying the G36E is way more accurate. I am also pretty sure the G36E does more damage aswell.

All praise the MG36, sweet gun! If you snipe with the G36C, just wait till you use the MG36. At my next promo, I'm unlocking that baby. Can't stay off a game where my squad leader has the MG36.

The M4 is a good gun, but I go with the G36C. I havn't got SF yet, but when I do I'm gonna unlock the F2000, the G36E, and possible the SCAR, (or the new Support Weapon. It looks cool.)
I think I get three unlocks anyway.
Can't wait to play SF.

If I had to choose just one gun to use forever in every situation I would go with the g36c, I haven't used the g36e much at all so I don't know much about the burst.
Scary accuracy on single shot. To where a noob and mediocre snipers are easy prey because they had better get a headshot or they will be dead because I can put 4 or 5 bullets in the time they fire one shot and reload(especially the bolt action)

I used to hate support because it was so frustrating shooting at someone 150 feet away hit them once then they turn around and kill me. mg36 changed all that and now I love support.

Red dot sight is nice, but I would unlock something other than the SCAR. The g36 is a great weapon. Prioritize, what is a greater improvement for my style of play?

I have used the SCAR-L briefly after killing an enemy Spec. ops. Since I had no ammo left I snatched his weapon. I didn't really get to use it, but it's not too bad.
I love my G36C though.
I had a mexican standoff with a Spec ops and a Support guy who were taking out commander assets. I just kept my finger on the trigger. I took both of them out without sustaining any damage. It was awesome, I love that gun.

I prefer the G36c. It has less power than the scar, but that doesn't matter when you put 5 rounds into the enemies chest before he even fires.

and yes i will be playing more support when i unlock the g36m because it is insanely accurate like the rest of the g36 family.weaker than the pkm use, but again what does power matter if you can put the bullets into them and drop them before they fire.
