I just got a new monitor its a 204B samsung 1600x1200 rez 20.1" monitor and I start battlefield and it crashes. I tried to do the video.con file and to put the +szy1600 +szx 1200 or however that is and it still crashes. Ive tried ever combination i can think of and I cant get it too work... i dont want to return my monitor or anything, but i want to play battlefield. thanks for the help..

I have a A64 3700+ san diego core, no OC'd currently
1 gig ocz 4000
Evga 7800GT 256mb
WD 360 raptor
everything is up to date
wXP/SP2
Antec truepower 550

This card may have trouble running in that resolution. You may need to run SLI to get the resolution you want. Have you tried to run the game at a smaller resolution like 1024X768?

If the game won't start up, try deleting the My Documents/Battlefield 2 folder.  See if that helps, worked for me when I was playing on my hdtv and had the resolution really high then switched back to monitor, forgetting to change settings and wouldn't start.

make sure battlefield is not trying to run off another monitor, nake sure u got it set to the right port.

There's no need to change anything in the video.con file. All you need is to add the resolution switch in the game shortcut.
