I duno about you, but after living overseas and eating bland british food for months on end, I've grown accustomed to certain hot sauces.  I think I'm addicted now.
I'm just wondering what everyone's favourite hotsauce is.  We all know tabasco is the 'staple sauce' when it comes to hot sauces, so I'm looking for other ones.

Hey, our food isnt bland! hehe

I dont suppose you could call it hotsauce but I like Lea and Perrins Worcester Sauce.  Its nice and has a good tang to it, and its great on cheese on toast or a jacket potato.

You might want to try it, it tastes great, but if you want a hot hot sauce, try something with a chilli pepper in.

No, I'm in agreement with you, brown sauce isnt that nice, its an aquired taste really.  Worcester sauce has much more of a ZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING! to it if you get what I mean... which you probably dont.

Geez beeng, where have you been eating that you call Brit food bland. Firstly as a Brit, I'd like to say sorry you've had a bad food experience, secondly I'd like to say.... not many Brits eat Brit food , it's too bland. Fish and chips, suet puddings, spotted dick, well the list is endless.
The national dish for the UK used to be fish and chips, I think it's curry now.... now that stuff isn't bland

Give us an idea of what you ate and I'll see where we went wrong

Hula Girl Chipotle Habanero Hot Sauce,

It won the The Grand Prize Winner Overall and 1st Place in the Hot Sauce-Chile Specific division at the 2004 Fiery Food Challenge.

You can get it online for $6.50 a bottle.. I ordered 4 bottles of it last year.. and we just opened the last one this month!!

Great smokey chipotle flavor without being overpowering!!

It has flavor and heat, not just tabasco peppers and vinegar (take a guess which one is composed that way...).

I was dared to swallow a sachet of Tabasco sauce, (the idiots at Hell's Pizza decided to put these in with their Pizza. Tabasco sauce related pranks have increased ten-fold.) Like a fool I did. I was okay until it reached my stomach... I'll leave this here I think...

We have this pepper called, in local terms, Chili Padi (pronounced pa-dee). Its small, but it packs a wallop. You get in a lot of it from spicy food in South-east Asia. The Thais use it a lot too.

But..I thought I had it all until I tried hot sauce with Habaneros while in the US. It was a bad day in the loo after that, plus Mexican food >.<

Wasabi anyone?

Blair's hot sauce,  2am, 3am, or for the rich 6am.
Glass bottle (melts plastic), cork with wax seal, lot/batch#
Dilute 1 tablespoon to 3 gallons of sauce/marinade/etc
Wear gloves and don't touch anything flesh that you value afterwards.

http://www.sweatnspice.com/Blairs_Death_Sauces.php

or just search 'Blair's hot sauce'

I won a Chilifest in Texas with this stuff.

I like Tabasco sauce and Louisiana Hot sauce, although I don't find either to be that hot.  Both have good flavor.  Tabasco is a must for a good Bloody Mary!  Louisiana hot sauce is great on a saltine.
Paladus, if you like worcestershire sauce, you should try Pickapeppa sauce if you can find it.  It comes from Jamaica.  I tastes very similar to worcestershire, but has a little more kick and is a little thicker.  I use it in my Bloodys.
I also like El Yucateco hot sauce, especially the one called Kutbil-Ik.  It is pretty damn hot but has a good flavor.
Dave's insanity sauce is one of those sauces that is hot just to be hot.  What is the point?  It adds no flavor, just burns your damn tongue off! I prefer something that adds to the meal.

Tabasco's much hotter than Louisiana, it doesn't have as much flavor though. Tabasco's just heat and vinegar, no real taste. Louisiana is better, though a little too salty. In a similar vein, look for Builliard's (the gold standard) or Frank's Red Hot sauce. Both are excellent.

If you want something a little different, try that Srirachan stuff from the Asian section. It's the red Thai sauce in the clear bottle with the rooster on the front. Good stuff.

If you're just looking for scorching heat and don't care about flavor, there are some places you can find pure capsaican. That's what makes peppers hot. Careful, a couple drops of that stuff and you'll be asking Jesus, Zeus, Ganesh or whoever else is up there to strike you down just to put out the burn. Greatness!
