Ok so this is one of the things that bugs me the most. I was playing on Ghost Town and someone shoots a zip across some buildings. he zips down, and after I finish killing someone (about 5 seconds) I hop on the zip to follow him and help him cap the flag. Unfortunatly, half way down he decides HE WANTS HIS FUCKING ZIP LINE BACK and presses G to retrieve it. I fall to my death, and am quite vocal about his lack of teamwork (luckly the server had "profanity welcome" )

Seriously people, it's a team game. Not a one man commando special ops game. Whenever I put out a zip line, if there's team-mates nearby i'll either wait to see if they get on it, or just leave it there incase they need a quick exit. If no one else is near me, yeah i'll retreive it right away.

Same goes for grappling hooks too.

I had another game on Warlord where 4 of us SAS chaps assaulted the palace, 2 assaults, 1 specops and 1 support and we got to the building, grappled, we ALL climbed up and capped the flag. Then the specops shot a zip and we ALL slid down to cap the other palace point. It was awesome. Thats how stuff should be done.

yeah it is annoying, but at the same time, i cant help but laugh whenever i see someone drop off a zipline

its happened to me, and i laughed myself stupid all the way down to the ground. seriously, in a perfect world people would look before they retrieved - i have played with people that do, and its much easier for a whole squad to move around that way rather than everyone having to deploy their own lines... BEWARE though: as someone rightly pointed out in another thread, if you there's a support gunner stationed somewhere near your zip target, you're all screwed, instead of just one of you.

what pisses me off about the zip line is when you deploy your own, and because of the way the thing plants itself, it throws you sideways a fraction - which sometimes knocks you off a ledge. that's soooo annoying, particularly since my parachute seems to be one of those sabotaged ones that won't fucking open no matter how many times i press the goddamn key!

i hade the same thin the other night on the night fighyt map i was almost to the top the fucker took the hook and i had a nasty fall i didnt die but i might as well have got shot 2 sec's later........

hehe, I love to shoot my zip line and wait a few seconds for any team mates that may want to use it.

When they are halfway down I grab the line and watch them fall! Splat! HAHAHAHAHA!

Just kidding, though I've done that on accident a few times. It's always fun to watch them panic halfway to the ground to find their parachute key though..

Much like the bastard that takes off in a helecopter with you in the doorgun, and then bails out while your shooting at a target, or a squad mate that takes off in a BH and leaves you on the fricken deck, or the jerk that drives of and leaves you there, etc. etc. etc.
