Eh. . .easy to say "let all the illegals in" and "building walls is stupid" and whatnot when you live up north and never see anyone who can't speak perfect English.

When you live down in the trenches like people here in central and southern Texas tho you know what's going on.  You see all the crime brought by these people.  You see the total lack of care for law and order they show.  Honestly. . .on my side of town. . .there are more signs in Spanish than in English.  It's pretty sad.  They drive around with drivers licenses of course.  They don't pay taxes.  If you complain about them tho it's racist or something tho.  Nice people those illegals.....

Being in one of the states, in the city with the one of the fastest growing hispanic populations, I see two major problems.  First off are employers.  As long as they continue to hire illegals, with little or no punishment for doing so, they will continue to come.  The second is why they don't need to assimilate.  All the businesses see this growing population and want a piece of the pie.  They don't care about the effects that these illegals have because they are more concerned about money.  So, they hire spanish speaking people, and put up all their signs in English and Spanish.  Most of these people didn't really want to come here anyway, they came out of "necessity", and have no desire to integrate, and no need to as long as we continue to cater to them in Spanish.

My brother is in elementary school, and his only means of recreational cash is soda cans and bottles.  Well he was counting them in the garage when a complete stranger came up and grabbed 4 trashbags full and jumped on his bike and rode away.  My dad and him jumped into their car and drove up to the local Safeway where the idiot started putting cans in the machine.  My dad called the cops on him and as it turns out, he was an illegal immigrant from mexico.  Thats just depraved. Stealing from a little kid just to "feed your family back home".  If there was a firing squad, i'd be one of the first to volunteer.

As SMALL as Immigration laws? Tell that to people from the UK who want to come here to Visit and or Live legally. British born englishmen and women  Cant or can only visit a short time and then have to go home asap. Just getting a Visa is almost impossible. So to say Breaking immigration laws is small is just rediculous. These people jump our border, bleed our system dry, and commit crimes 2 fold and it said its a small crime to cross.

If they didnt cross(no matter the reason) then there wouldnt be a problem. Do the crime in your own country, you wouldnt see me running to another country ilegally even to feed my family. If i cant feed my family, I had no reason to start one in the first place!

Have you ever been up north? It's just as bad here as it is down there, So we know what's going on. The first State/town to actually create laws against illegals is in PA.  But Building a wall is a really horrible Idea it's going to be just a huge waste of money.

I'm originally from Ohio..........but have lived most of my life in Texas.  There is NO comparison to North vs. South when it comes to this issue.  We have schools that are 90% Hispanic in the inner city.  Just the other day they had a parade celebrating Mexico's Independence here in Houston.

My thing is this.........If you want to come here do it legally.  And once you get here stop flying your flag and pick up ours.  All those protest and I can't even remember seeing the stars and stripes once.  If they are so proud of Mexico then take your ass back.

Theres got to be harsh penalties for these companies that hire them.  Stop giving them jobs and they will have no reason to come here.  The wall can come second lmao

I'm all for legal immigration, but this has got to stop.

Yes I have.  And no. . .it is not "as bad" as it is down here just a few hours from the border.

The only place where it would be "as bad" is maybe L.A.  You maybe see 2-3 people everyday that are illegal immigrants that don't speak English.  I see 2-3 people everyday that are LEGAL and SPEAK English. . .

The best way to stop companies from employing illegals is to force them to pay illegals the same amount as they pay other Americans.

By doing that all incentive for hiring illegals is GONE.

Yep, deportation or baghdad deployment.  They'll have at least earned their passage and have contributed towards something.  Of course, deportation is what they'd choose, and that's expensive and does nothing to keep them from trying again..in fact, it will teach them what to look out for and better prepare them for the next jump.

Maybe just deploy them into Baghdad.  It will really start confusing everyone when in the fever pitch of a small arms fight, some little mexican parachutes down in the middle of them with his little ice cream wagon as he plays his little jingle on his flute!  Who knows, maybe it will end the fighting when they realize a real plague is coming!!

I live in the SF Bay area and every day on my way to work, i see at least a hundred illegals lined up in the parking lots of home depot and some other large mall parking lots.  Be nice to just scoop 'em up and drop em into baghdad and ask them to earn their right to do day labor.  but to be serious, what boggles me is that our failed immigration laws are soooo glaringly sad, that they can actually sit there and not sweat the possibility that a police officer will come up, detain them and have INS deport them as should be the case.

I have had enough.  Build a wall and keep these people out.  Sure most are good people, but we need a wall in order to figure out, to the best of our ability, who is good and who is bad.  I know that is impossible to do for the most part, but at least they will be documented and easier to track.

QFE. Illegals come to the US because their home nations are shitholes without opportunities.
We have the same problem with illegal immigration from north africe into the southern nations of the EU, mostly Spain and Italy. Literally thousands of people crossing the meditteranean sea in small boats every week just to reach EU territory with a small hope to maybe secure the survival of their family at home.
Lots of them drown in the process.

Cracking down on those who hire illegals is a good start, and it might even lead to jobs for some US-born people who don't have a job. THe problem with that is, would employers even be able to pay the minimum wage ?
If you kicked all the illegals out, would you have enough people to keep your country running ? mow those lawns, clean those toilets, park those cars, etc...
In my opinion, illegals do the work that a lot of indigenous americans wouldn't even want to do if you put a gun to their head.

Let's face it, given the low birth rates in western nations, we need immigration.
I agree that it has to be legal and controlled, but I doubt building a wall at your southern border will do the trick. Those people are desperate and will find a way in.

If you want to tackle the immigration problem, you'd be best off to

- help south american countries create better opportunities for their people so they don't have to leave in the first place
- enforce the current immigration and labor laws, especially with regard to employers hiring illegals

both should prove to be considerably cheaper than beefing up border security to "Berlin Wall" levels.

Take big ass Army cargo trucks and roll them up into my neighborhood.  Start knocking on doors and stopping people and asking them for proof of I.D. like a DL. . .birth certificate. . .Social Security card. . .if you can't come up with valid I.D. into the truck you go and nice knowing ya a la Big Brother style. 

If all the illegals got rounded up and tossed out of my neighborhood I think there would be about 20 of us left here.

one thing is a nation dealing with its own trouble (citizens involved in criminal acts), and a totallly different story is a nation dealing with crimes done by people who come from outside and have no f'ing official identity.
