I think we all can admit all city maps are predictable. For example, on Jalalabad the US can only attack in a few directions, and for the most part it is easy to repel their attack. I assume most people know where everyone is going to run to at the start of a round. My question is, using Jalalabad infantry only as an example, how does the US even capture a flag? I am amazed every time this happens. I mean, I am happy when it happens because it makes the round much more fun, but it is still amazing to me. If you know where they are going to go, how can you not stop them? I wish the US would start out with the Lake flag, and I think this was a mistake by Dice. It would make this map much more enjoyable for both sides.
If you want unpredictablenessness, play Songhua Stalemate :p
Good point. But I like city maps.Hellogoodsir wrote:

Maybe once they see they were killed by their gay lover they will give up and go home and not cap flags.
I love the 16 player Jalalalabad IO map. It is a lot of fun imo and not as mundane as the 32 player map.
Mashtuur is often considred an infantry map, but it isn't very predictable, or is it? (Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't play it because I hate it)
I like being american way better than being MEC on Jalaisbad. Fighting for the first flags is awesome holding them sucks.
Yes. Jalalabad is messed up on IO. You get your ass sniped if you pop out. MEC=all snipers. US=75% snipers, 25% medics. Sucks.
I have Karkand Memorized, And I Fucking Hate Karkand. I have Mashtuur Memorized, I Love Mashtuur.

Not me. 100% support. Except for the times I have been revived only to find a sniper rifle in my habds.-Gunsmoke- wrote:

Sharqui is excellent, with and without vehicles, though getting raped by the Havok sucks. Mashtuur is okay too, though most times it turns into a big battle for Mosque.
IO Jalalabad (is it really that hard to type out, c'mon now guys) is predictable, because there are no jeeps. Then again, really any IO map is predictable, because either side knows where the brunt of the force is coming from. However, Jalalabad is not predictable in any way if you are playing w/ vehicles. As U.S., you just grab a DPV and fly past all the noobs and go to the mosque, market, or any other base beyond enemy lines. As MEC, you either defend front lines, or stay back and defend CP's (much like Karkand).

I'd like to try Road Rage or Operation Harvest on IO. A lot of open ground to sneak around in.
Very much agree with this, I think they tried to by making it neutral, but didn't think that MEC is closer than US so almost always gets that flag first.usmarine2005 wrote:

However, unless MEC is smart ad puts down some AT mines, you can usually get a car through and cap a back flag.
If u like city maps and infantry only, i suggest u try infantry on special force, alot of fun and some great maps for infantry!
Yeah, in Karkand there are SO many different routes for USMC to attack. Not.Simon wrote:

Balanced city maps: Mashtuur and Ghost Town.
lol still think the inf. only needs to be patched with Jeeps.......
IO with Humvees/Vodniks/Clown Cars would be great. They dont have the invincible-to-AT-missile thing of FAVs and DPVs, and it would spice up some maps more. Many rounds on Jalalabad IO can be spent without the US taking a single flag.
I agree. I thought 1.4 was beta tested by some BF2s users. WTF happened? How could this slip by them?ExecutionerStyle wrote:

Play the 16 player version of Jalalalabad. It is a lot better and more fun.ExecutionerStyle wrote:

Open maps can be predictible too..
I know where every spawn point is on wake island, where everyone stands around. where every car drives, where every troop runs..
after nearly 900 hours playing wake, i better know these things..
I know wake better then my own backyard..
