Rate my computer and my buys please.

Case. Not too shabby, should be here on Thursday around noon.

YAY!! Ram, 667 MHz, I should see a HUGE difference from my 133MHz I have now. -_- Arrives tomorrow.

Arrived today at 12 I was at schooooooooool though.

So, here are my specs NOW! Well... on Friday after my friend puts it all together for me.

CPU: 3.4 GHz Pentium 4 Hyper Threaded
RAM: 1GB 667 MHz RAM (probably going to OC it though.. no, I am. )
Hard Drive: 250GB IDE Hard Drive, 7200 RPM
Vid Card: XFX 7600GT (OC'ed to 590/1600. as fast as a 7900GTX. frigin pwned.)
Sound Card: onboard *insert generalized statement that it gets the job done*
and a 19" monitor.

GG to me, I'm paying for it and I'm only 15.
(As a side note, I have everything else, all I am buying is the three things I have linked)

Very nice dude. A small point tho - buy a Pentium D processor and overclock to 4GHz.

O and get more RAM - 1gig is a start but 2+ is better

Pretty nice, But what kind of pentium 4?

No worries about onboard sound, The sound on boards now is really good. with headphones, its About the same as your mid range sound cards anyways. Its fully capable of you hearing everything in 3-D and whooping butt.

Another gig of ram would help you greatly in the future.

seeing as the cpu is recycled from his old pc, i think it makes sense to stick with that (hey; no cost!). a c2d is quiet an investment, even if cpus are dirt cheap right now

be carefull over clocking that ram, make sure it does not get to hot. with out head speaders i would watch it very carefully. no shame in recyclying cpus - i am still using my 3700+ and it runs fine.

yeah, the processor you have is the same as me...P4 @ 3.4E....thou i have 2 gigs corsiar...

and correction, you dont need 2 gigs to play bf2 on high, but it does get rid of all the lag right after you load a map (cause bf2 loads the maps directly thrugh the ram...worst..idea...ever...). the best upgrade i can see you for you is a new harddrive...probably a SATA raid setup....i have 2 WD caviars (80gb) in my old case, and they run way faster than my friends 1 raptor (i got 2 in current setup)...raid is where its at... so next paycheck (no idea how much you make) get the 2nd gig of ram, and 2 cheap sata drives....you can get 2 80gb drives for a total of <$100....make sure you have the sata cables tho...

And no: the 7600 with 128-bit memory is NOT as fast as a 7800 with 256-bit memory. The clock speed may be as "fast" but the bandwidth is cut in half.

Dont forget the 7600 gt has only half the pixel pipelines and shaders.. theres a reason its so cheap
The core clock really isnt going to increase your performance more than 2-3 frames per second
