A little story.
So, today I decided to try to turn my sound settings up, to see what happens. Set them on high, and jumped into singleplayer SF, Warlord. Well, I didn't notice much, but since I was here, I decided to screw with the bots on Easy. Having spent hours on Karkand, throwing C4 at them and giggling as they flew through the air, I decided to try something different. Knifing them.
Well, suffice to say, I grew bored after ending about fifty of them, without dying. I needed a real challenge. I needed to knife other players. So, I hopped onto a nice Warlord/Ghost Town server, at the end of a Warlord round. I picked medic (best kit for knifing?), and ran around, eager to kill and get that fancy badge. First thing I found was a tank, well... what the hell? I charged it and hopped on the turret. The driver got scared, and hopped out to shoot me. E. 8 kills later, my poor tank was sitting in a AT Mine crater. I hopped around in the palace until the round ended, and collected three knife kills.
The map cycled to Ghost Town, and things got going. Turns out, I'm half-assed decent at knifing. Didn't take a hundred (of 300) tickets to get my Basic badge. Then I met Kuhne.

Kuhne, you see... is your typical Grenade Launcher player. He was damn good at it too, many a time I charged into a flag, to knife his not-so-skilled squadmate, only to be mowed down by his GP-30. He was also very hard to knife, the server was lagging, and several times I got the puff-o-smoke and the knife sound, but no kill on Kuhne. Suffice to say, I didn't like him much.
The round ended, I had 13 knifes and 19 teamwork points, a total of 45. Not good enough for bronze, but tied for the best on my team.
Next round, on Ghost Town again. I was suprised at how well the first round went, and I wanted to try for the Veteran badge (I didn't get it. I think I should have, but whatever. Getting it should be easy, for me... atleast.)
Much of the round was spent pouncing off building edges onto unsuspecting foes, knifing them dead, and then getting blasted away by Kuhne's GP-30.
On one such occasion, I lept off my rooftop, landed next to two Spetz, and knifed the nearest one. Noting his name, it was Kuhne's squadmember. Judging by the AK-101 in my next target's hands, I pretty much assumed my fate. You can imagine how suprised I was, when suddenly my foe pulled out his knife! The red text above him read "Kuhne". Very unusual, but the Knife Fight commenced. For a few seconds, we darted around the flag, bunny hopping and swinging at the air. Then I had an idea.
Surely, one can only stand seeing the text "Kuhne [GP-30] Kanil" so many times, and I was probably at my limit. I must admit, what I did was dishonorable and against the spirit of Knife Fights, but too bad. I pulled out my trusty L85A1, aimed in his general direction. Thirty rounds later, I got my first (and only) non-knife kill that round. Soon after, I noticed in chat...
Kuhne: CHEATER!
I bursted into uncontrollable laughter.
Kuhne: I WANTED TO KNIFE!
Kanil: Well, I wanted to knife earlier, and you didn't.
Still feeling giggly, we went back to our usual 'I maul his squadmate and get tube'd' routine. I ended the round with 21 kills (20 knife), and 23 teamwork points, for a total of 65. Not quite enough for Bronze again, but still the best score on my team. Kuhne? He got gold.
