I have a question that may put me off Wide Screen. Obviously some games, such as bf2, dont support ws. I was wondering if the game is stretched or will the monitor adjust to give the right shape?

You might want to search that one, but in summary, either stretched or lose some at top and bottom. I'd stick with 4:3 but that's just my opinion.

what i mean is can a 4:3 be played on 16:9 without stretching?
I wouldnt mind have black space down the sides of games intended to be only 4:3

To me it looks nice, as long as you run in your monitors native res, in your case 1440x900.daffytag wrote:

I belive so, I have a widescreen but have not tryed it. I think its like a vertical letterbox, un-used space on the left and right side. I think that BF2 looks fine streched. I have a 21" Gateway widescreen and it is great, I just need a better graphics card to be able to utilize it. I only have a 6600 GT OC.daffytag wrote:

I also have a regular 17" viewsonic and it is a good brand. Check the warenties. Thats the one sticking point I had with the Gateway monitor.
