So you see what the BFROE are trying to do is maintain an equality throughout the ranked servers. Without it there'd be no point to having ranks, stats, etc because there'd be no way of comparing or to judge how well you've done. I found Indian Scout in an empty BF2 pro server. He soon fell victem to my knife. I would have asked him about the roe, but I feared for my stats.
I dotnt think there should be any rules ranked or not. Stats are only numbers and in a few years no one will care a bit about them (apart from stat whores).

I don't see how it's a complicated concept.
Look at it this way; If you play football (American or British doesn't matter) with a bunch of friends, you can play however you want. Make up as many rules as you want. No one will care. Play the same sport in a league or professionally, and you have to follow the predefined rules of that league. Everyone has to follow the same rules. Otherwise you're not playing the same game.
Think of the ranked servers as playing in a league, and the unranked servers as playing with a bunch of friends.
Then go play in unranked servers. Let the people that do care about their rank and want to follow the rules play in ranked servers. Then you can quit your bitching about the "laws" and everyone will be happy.Ryker wrote:

The combat isn't physical but that doesn't mean it isn't real - games were invented to develop various skills from physical, motor, habitual actions, critical and strategic thinking, etc.. I bet the percentage of 'real life' activity in a player playing BF2 is about 95-98%. On the whole the software is a very small part of our BF2 gaming community.
