Get 2 gigs of RAM and you should be good to go

yeah.. 2GB will be good... 400w should be fine... unless you start adding more hd's, or go SLI...

I'd bump the cpu to an E6600.

What is the power supply? If it's a really shit one at 400W it probably gives much lower output, if it's a decent one then you will be fine.

I guess you've got monitor, speakers etc sorted already. What about a different DVDRW, the one you've got down is pretty nice but I prefer the Pioneer DVR-111, which has faster read speeds and slightly higher quality burning, but no DVD-RAM.

Maybe try to get 800MHz RAM as well?

Definitely don't go with a PSU that comes with the case - they aren't worth it and generally don't perform to the Wattage they claim.  Try a Seasonic or Antec PSU.

You might also want to consider a second DVD drive - a standard DVD-ROM drive will be sufficient since you already have a DVD writer.  It's very convenient having a second drive as you can keep BF2 in there while occasionally playing another game.  And DVD readers are dirt cheap.

I'd consider getting a larger wattage on the PSU as well, though w/ the conroe, that may be moot.  Another consideration would be two hard drives in RAID 0 as opposed to one

If at ALL possible, try to get a Motherboard with the Intel 975 Chip. You will spend a bit extra but in the long run you will be Much more impressed with it.

I Also agree with getting a Branded PSU with more wattage. Even though the Conroe processors dont require it, the new Vidio cards down the road In say April will. Its said(because there are working prototypes being unvailed next month) That they are going to eat up Atleast 100 Watts of power. Thats right 100 Watts. The Heat output is going to be staggering. Its looking like they wont be getting it under control before relese neither. Ill post a couple links to some VERY interesting articles for you all to read.

Hope this helps someone.

At this time in this stage of the tech, probably. If it were at ALl possible, id try and wait until after Xmas. this way the Bugs will have been worked out and the motherboard offerings will be more abundant. Plus the prices will have stabalized and supply will be up.

Its all a waiting game at this point. Id love to upgrade, But am waiting for the suckers to clear the market, and let the good stuff hit the shelves.

BTW that setup is nice. But do get a better PSU. A faster hard drive wouldnt hurt. Maybe a 10,000 RPM would be good. because at this point, hard drive are the biggest bottlenecks of gameing systems by far.
