Mountains are cool. Bring a gun and shoot some stuff. The best are those little green propane canisters used for Coleman stoves. Duck tape a road flare to the side of it, light the flare, run like hell and then blast that fucker!! You might be in trouble with your parents but it sure would make the trip a lot more fun.

Sorry just have to say this but, that sounds like a typical American response (me stereotyping all yanks sorry)

These trips out with parents may be boring but try and look at it as quality time with your parents.
1, You are not going to live with them for ever so make the most of being spoilt by the parents. (free meals out etc)
2, Try enaging your parents with a serious topic of conversation. (you may be surprised by their views, and a good bit of adult chat makes them look at you in a more grown up way than just their little boy).
3, If old enough or there abouts suggest going to the pub watching your parents pissed is ROLF's all round

He's young enough that his parents decide when or where he goes on a trip with them. That's all there is to know.
