The MX518 or the G5?

I know the 518 is supposed to be a lower model but some say that it is better than the G5, so I need to see what people think.

Factors involved:
Which is more confortable and generates less heat over long periods of time?

Which is better for a bigger hand?

Which is more precise?

Indeed it is, you can have all the hardware inside your rig that you want, but a decent mouse will mean more than any of that.

Yeah, if you're 12 years old and you have hands the size of a six year old girl.

Honestly, you should test out a mouse before you use it. Go to a local computer shop and see if they have one set up that you can try out. If not...go with the G5 anyway. It'll be a bit different than what you're used to...but once you get used to it, it's amazing.

Why is everyone saying G5 over MX518, and why no reasons? The G5 does have 400 more dpi, but I highly doubt that you turn your sensitivity so far up that you start skipping. Apart from that the only difference is the G5 has less buttons, and now I couldn't get along with out my two thumb buttons and knuckle button. The G5 is not better just because it's newer.

Actually I do use the highest sensitivity when I'm flying jets and choppers. It's much easier to pull of evasive maneuvers in jets and make smooth, sweeping turns. Also, in helicopters, turning is pretty much only limited by how quickly you can move your mouse...so the higher resolutions does help quite a bit.

Ahh, always forget about that, I fly straight keyboard in choppers and joystick for jets. Seriously however, turning the resolution and sensitivity all the way up makes the mouse very hard to control, I can't see anyone using it for anything but choppers. I'm not saying the G5 is bad, but teh extra buttons are EXTREMELY useful, I use them all both in game and on my desktop.

Also, choppers do have a limit, and it's how fast yo ucan do it with a keyboard. Only two settings, 1 and 0.

true, true, I love my G5, especially the on the fly speed change for dpi, and the back button is my prone/ stand up button.
