Kill the first 2, maybe, then run out of ammo....the pistol usually doesn't suffice to take out the last one. If it does, somoene will spawn in my face while I'm reloading the G3, and pump lead into it.
With a scenario like that you should be chucking nades and entering a room with ample support. Otherwise just camp out of it.

The G3 is awesome. But If you dont have a support with you, You'll be out of ammo after 4-5 kills.
I've not used the assault kit much - I've got even less time on it than sniper - as I'm more prone to taking ammo or medic packs but I'll definitely give it another go after reading this thread.
The trouble is I suck at aiming properly so I've got very little chance of getting headshots and I think headshots are begging for the g3.
I'm glad it doesn't have a launcher slung under the barrel - the thrown grenades seem to do more splash damage these days.

a 30 round clip would probably make the g3 overly powerful imo... for as accurate as it is in long range, and for the punch it packs, 20-25 rounds is just right to help balance it some.
anyways.. its a gun for the more skilled and patient player, who takes more care to take accurate shots andnot just hold down the button after running into a room.

You need to be a good shot with it, considering it has a 20 clip mag.
I like the G3 for the assualt class. I popped both vet badges playing on Warlord. My final score at the end of the round was 100 with 22 - 24 kills.
The 20 round mag is a problem. But you have to remember that the gun was first used in 1959. A 20 round mag was large considering you are firing a 7.62 bullet. The M16 had a 20 mag until it went against the Ak-47. Then all the American GIs where screaming for a 30 mag.
EA/Dice balanced the G3's power with 4 extra clips. Personally, I think the assualt class should have more ammo then any other class since they don't have any specail items (C4, Med packs, Ammo Packs, etc.). The only toy they get is 1 smoke grenade or 3 flash bangs if they use the F2000. They have body armor, but AT and support do too.

I absouloutly hate the gun. I cant use it for shit, I shoot and it misses, its not very accurate (for me anyway), and evryone that uses it owns me with it. BAsically i dont liek it cause i get ownd with it and cant kill anyone with it.

Clip capacity has nothing to do with the gun.
I love the G3! Accept when it whored like a cheap hooker.Than it pisses me off.
I only use the beast on Single; 3 clicks or less and they're done. If you use it Auto you get the PKM Issue and that's bad.
